Beautiful but not so useful app.

I was using this app a few years ago and then abandoned it for CityMapper. A few years later, what changed? Well, the U.I. deserves a 5 stars: timeline is so great, traveling directions and maps too. But that’s it. It lacks core features: You can’t get pricing estimates. Plus, it sometimes misses some traveling directions alternatives. For example, from Central Park/Manhattan, NY to Botanic Garden/Bronx, NY you will be proposed a $7 Harlem train while you could get a $3 D Line train all the way up... including a 10 min walk. I get the feeling that Transit may not enough consider walking in its algorithms. Going back to Citymapper once again.
Great app with expanding abilities!

I love this app, but more than that, I love the developers. They are constantly updating the app with fresh, original ideas about how a transit app should behave and how the user experience can be richer. As a software developer myself I also appreciate the nimble, responsive design, the admirable data compression, and the layman-friendly wording of their medium articles, which explain important updates in an entertaining way. I’m writing this review mainly hoping to find out what their plan is to become a revenue-producing company—because I really hope it doesn’t involve advertisements. I will personally lobby for city governments to invest in it, if that’s what it takes to avoid seeing ads on this wonderful little app.

Reliable and Intuitive UI

I move around the city a lot, and have found this app’s navigation intuitive and simple. The timing is very accurate — super useful when you are calculating which transfer gets in quicker. I find myself relying on this app more and more, and so far love it!
Crashes all the time

I love this app when it works, but it crashes almost every time that I use it which makes getting anywhere very difficult. Using other apps now due to the unreliability.
The sub-line information is not correct

Location: Ann Arbor. A line B line information is always not correct. For example, Bus 4A and 4B. The route is showing 4A for 4B, and vise versa.

Tells you everything you need to know down to whether you should board the front middle or back of the train and which stairwell you should exit after getting off. In a place like NYC it's a huge help! Also look forward to their updates as the description is always quite fun to read ?
