Half the webpages pop an error

TXS Dave

I tried completing an order for over an hour. Every other webpage kept showing an error and telling me to call the 800 number. When I tried the 800 number I have sat and waited for three minutes and then decided to help others by making them aware of this poorly designed website with worse maintenance.

Meh. Sticking with Amazon Prime Now.

This app is pretty buggy. Several times, screens would not load for me. Technically, I don't think it even is a true native iOS app, but rather just an in-app web view of a mobile website. The experience does not feel native to an iPhone. The web server is slow to respond to requests, and the UI elements are awkward, small and unintuitive. Also, the prices and minimum order size are both too high. I compared a handful of items on this app to prices available on Amazon Prime Now. A loaf of Ezekiel Bread, for example, is $6.79 from Tom Thumb, but only $4.49 from Sprouts via the Prime Now app. Even buying these over-priced items, there is still a $150 minimum order to get free delivery, and even then you still have to remember to apply a coupon code. It is a similar story with Google Express. I shop pretty regularly at the physical Tom Thumb store near my house, but I will not be using this app for home delivery service. There is simply no value proposition that is worth switching from the other services available to me. I am disappointed, actually, that this option is not yet viable. Oh well.

If only I didn't also have to go to the store...

I buy Safeway brand grain-free cat kibble. Very very rarely it shows up as an option in the app - but most of the time, it's not to be found. One time it was there, I ordered 4 bags, but only 2 were delivered. I understand they may not be able to stock everything that's available in a store, but you'd think they'd at least stock their own brand of long-shelf life items. If I have to go to the store anyway, not much sense even using the app. And if I have to go to the store anyway, I'll be going to my preferred store, which is not actually Albertson's except for the cat food.

Good service beware of snitching delivery drivers

Fateswebb

I like the service. However I did have a delivery driver named Brian in 76053 try to get me in trouble because he thought he detected some smell or something. I strongly urge you to do business outside of your house and beware of unprofessional drivers not minding their own business. Otherwise great service. Great app.

App is re-login happy

Ditchbank Dog

After a few days of using the Tom Thumb Grocery Delivery app I'm still adding to my cart and I haven't gone thru my first transaction yet; but, I can tell you right now this app makes you re-login so many times you will loose patience with it (I use Low Power mode). When I use their Tom Thumb Pharmacy app it keeps me logged in or logs me in automatically, but not their Grocery Delivery app. I am giving this app a low rating for now because of constantly having to re-log in. I may change my mind once I go thru the full transaction process in which case I'll update this review. But for now the re-logging in is a big annoyance. UPDATE: Ok, the delivery service has proven invaluable for homebound people like me. I am going to increase my rating for this app but having to re-login frequently is still a pain. It should be the same as their pharmacy app. UPDATE 7-29-17: Well I see somebody took my advice and modified the login rules. Much much better. I'm increasing my rating to five stars. UPDATE 10-14-17: I am disabled and want the ability to send my cart contents to another phone when they go shopping for me. The app coupled with the delivery service is just plain invaluable. Thank you.

Bugs & Glitches!

theAMAzing5

Downloaded the app to try a delivery for the first time. Couldn’t even get started due to glitches on the “get started” page. I think there is a hidden field that requires some numbers, and if there is an error message that isn’t displaying. The Shop Now button is unresponsive so, can’t use the app! I guess I’ll try the online experience.

Bring back tho old app

I just want to get a shopping list and go buy my groceries. That has become very difficult with the new app. Don’t fix it, if it ain’t broke.

Won’t even load to my iPhone

iameriica

I’ve been trying for days to load the app to my iPhone. No success. I’ve NEVER had this problem with any other app. Hard to use the service if you can’t even order.

Update killed it

Worked great until the last update - now won't even open.

Clunky, unclear, and not for me.

Update 1/10/2018: I am currently unable to input any promo codes during checkout via the app and the Tom Thumb website. I’m using Updated Safari browser and updated iOS. So I am unable to take advantage of discounts offered to other shoppers who are not experiencing this problem. One customer service rep had me attempt inputting promo codes from website and app, then clearing website data and reattempting, with no success. Congrats on your one-star rating, Tom Thumb grocery delivery app! This app was clunky to use before the most recent update. The app conditions say that you’ll receive Rewards pricing and coupons, but these aren’t applied until the order is filled. It’s unclear whether the app’s “deals” are applied in addition to Rewards prices and coupons. After the most recent app update, it takes 2-3 more taps to get to a screen that shows all of the items available for each deal. I was on the fence about shopping through this app, but the most recent update completely turned me off of this app.
