Backups are worthless

myreasonsmile

Horrible customization. Or lack thereof. Backups are a joke. Last backup: February 23 (and only 2 total) so over 5.5 months where it did nothing. And now that I need it, it’s not there. So don’t waste your time unless you are okay with maybe losing your info if you get a new phone or have to start over with a fresh install for whatever reason. 09.28.2020 - All of that was given. Stop trying to put the blame on me and take responsibility for your app not working.

Multiple users

I like the setup of the app. I just can’t seem to figure out if I have to purchase multiple subscriptions to have multiple children on the app. I will readjust my rating if I can add someone with out paying another 6.99 for their phone to. *Edit: Thanks for your help it worked. Now I can really get use from this app. Definitely a 5 star app. I love that I can set chores for my kids to do and actually see if and when they have done them. It also makes cleaning easier cause I can break down what needs to be done in each room

Crashes

Since the iOS 14 update, the app crashes every time I go to my to do list **UPDATE** I contacted the developer, they were quick to respond and explain that they were working to fix it. Issue seems to be resolved now!

It USED to work great

Suntanna

This app used to be absolutely fantastic. But for the last couple weeks it refuses to update chores. We have four people on our chore list and each one of us sees a different person due to complete the chore. Disappointed to see the functionality of the app disappear, hoping an update is coming ASAP as the most recent update (4.7.6) is my current and broken version.

Easy peassy

The interface is easy to learn and easy to train. Simple to set up custom tasks reoccurring and one time items. Help you keep track of when you did something before.

Was working well

Was working well but now has stopped synching

Excellent app that could benefit from a few additional features

V713321

Tody is excellent. It’s clean, polished, and user friendly. It’s built in suggested tasks and zones are extensive and also provides the user the ability to customize extensively its multi-user and sync work very well and are easy to implement in a household. Some features I’d like to see added: 1. Search function to quickly find tasks that may be buried in long lists or when you can’t remember which area they’re assigned to. Also some tasks may be in multiple areas so finding all with a specific name quickly would be really valuable. 2. Some kind of reporting feature so you can see who in the family is over and under achieving. I love that tasks have effort assigned to them so that can balance out reporting. It’s not always the number of tasks but the time and difficulty. Timing may be another metric that would be good to add. Some tasks don’t take long but they’re diffuse or frustrating while others may take a long time but be very simple. 3. An export feature for lists of tasks, areas, and assignments would be excellent. Ideally excel but other formats may be useful as wel. 4. An Apple Watch app would lend itself very nicely to this app. Especially when doing messy tasks you may not want to keep touching your phone or carry it with you while you’re cleaning. Tapping tasks complete on your wrist seems made to order foe this kind of app. 5. The opportunity to gamify it a little like badges or achievements or notifications when you reach certain goal posts that way the user can be rewarded in the real world. I see this being especially useful for families with children who can cross off chores to reach certain goals.

Life-changing app with some bugs

Bonniemuffin

We deleted and reinstalled the app on both phones, and now it’s all happy. I’m glad it’s working now, because I’ve become quite dependent on it. My house is much cleaner, and I enjoy chores more because I get to make Tody happy by checking them off when they’re done. :) —- Previous review: I want to love this app, but it’s so buggy. It hangs on a pinwheel screen constantly so I have to force quit and restart all the time, and when my husband tries to enable syncing by joining my household, it just hangs on a “Processing” pinwheel forever, so we can’t use it together.

Used To Be My Favorite-Still Good

lew00256

I’ve used this for years and it’s made a huge difference in how clean my apartment is and how stressed it makes me feel. I never forget to do a task! However, I kinda hate the new update. My favorite part was the chart where I could see overall how clean my home was. That’s entirely gone. The new charts don’t tell me that, they only say how many tasks I’ve completed. And they are fiddly, they load blank and I have to hit buttons that make no sense for them to work. A month ago this would have been five stars for sure. If the charts are fixed and the “how clean is your home chart” brought back, I would change my rating. For now I’ll probably continue using but may look for a new system.

The App That Just Keeps Getting Better

Mopedimus

Tody is a game changer. I tried several different techniques to try to manage keeping my home clean, and I’d give up on all of them. Tody is an app I’ve stuck with for over six months now. What makes Tody different? Tody doesn’t demand a part of your day in cleaning. Rather, it recommends to you when you should clean something. What do I mean by that? Some cleaning systems want you to zone clean, so for example, Kitchen on Mondays, Bathrooms on Tuesdays, and so on. That’s great until you sat in the ER with your kid all Monday evening, or any other convenient excuse. Now you start getting backlogged and start feeling like you’re failing. With Tody, you’re given a heads up a task is due. Don’t have time today? It’ll stay on your list until you get to it, and then reset the clock from there. Realize that vacuuming the spare bedroom that never gets used every week is a waste of time? Change the frequency to every two weeks, or every month. Toilet needs cleaned more than once a week because you have a household full of teenage boys? Change the frequency, AND assign the task to them until they learn how to aim better. Also, for those trying to build habits because you’ve never kept a house clean successfully before, Tody keeps track of how many tasks you do. So, if you want to treat yourself to a pizza because you’ve gotten all the tasks done in a week, or buy yourself a TV soundbar because you completed 500 points worth of tasks in a month and you’re proud of the housekeeper you’ve become, this is your faithful scorekeeper. There are dozens of techniques for habit building out there. I can’t promise this is the method that will work for you, but it is a well thought out and maintained app, and it’s worth a try! TL;DR: This app is chock full of features, and worth it. Give it a try!
