Like it, but no XP gain

Maygan c.

I really like this app! However, the online version gives you XP on your Duolingo account when you use it. On the app, it gives you nothing. I will rate five stars when this is fixed!

Learning Addictions

HELP I AM ADDICTED TO LEARNING!! JK I just like learning and I can’t go 12 or 3 hours without it! But for real I am addicted.

Decent app if you need to use image upload feature for free

Gkha

Pros: +Make flash cards with images for free +Animation feels polished +Study up to 3 different meanings +Draw diagrams right on your cards Cons: -You can’t edit your cards in table form (only on browser) -Drawing feature not implemented in the app (only on browser) -Quiz is too easy (quiz is too hard on the browser version since you have to memorize every single character correctly)

Is this normal?

I was on the duolingo pod cast and there where words like kidnap cry fight panic and other words for Spanish.

Great flash cards

This is a great tool but like all tools for language learning is best when combined with others. Using the duolingo decks is better than duolingo itself for drilling material but not as good for initially learning it (as should be expected of flash cards). The flash card functionality, independent of the content (flipping cards, swiping away, the repetition, etc...), is very good and better than any other flash card app I have tried. One has to be careful of other users’ custom decks though as those do tend to contain errors. There is not much that can be done about that though besides having everything reviewed by an expert and it may not always be clear what the deck is for much less how it should be reviewed.

Better than Duolingo

I prefer this over Duolingo because as a tactical learner I can learn things much easier. The flashcards and pictures really help me out. This app is good for spare time.

Accuracy is important

The app just highlights where I got it wrong and accepts my answer when the answer is wrong. How is that supposed to help me learn? When I get a card wrong, next time it comes up the app fills in the correct answer before I even have a chance to think about it. How is that supposed to help me learn? When attempting to send feedback the app won’t allow it saying there needs to be an email on the account. And guess what? It’s RIGHT THERE in my settings. ??

This App is Ok But Needs Improvement

Tl;dr: In my opinion, this app needs to provide both the singular and plural forms of the noun in each flash card, show the ALL of the conjugations for each verb (either on flashcards or in a separate section entirely) and provide flash cards for every word that is shown in Duo Lingo. ... Don’t get me wrong. I love Duolingo and how the app makes learning languages fun. But Tiny Cards, the app that corresponds with Duo Lingo, needs improvement. First of all, I wish the nouns contained both the singular and plural forms. While the flash cards provide some plural forms of certain nouns, they are scattered throughout the course and some of the plurals are not shown for certain nouns. For instance, in my German course, I saw the word “Die Tomaten” (the tomatoes) in Food 1 but saw “Die Tomate” (the tomato) in Food 2, which is several lessons down from Food 1. In my opinion, I think the singular and plural forms of a noun should be included in a single flash card. Second of all, the app needs to show conjugations of each verb. The flash cards either provide some conjugations or none all. I think there should be a section where they show all the conjugations for every verb, because there are going to be exceptions for certain verbs. Third of all, there are some words in the Duo Lingo app that need to be added in Tiny Cards. Words that I have come across in Duo Lingo like “Welches” (which) and “Spanien”(Spain) are not in Tiny Cards. Hopefully, the app will improve, but until then, I’m making my own flash cards.
