Works great until you have all the stored files you’ve worked your butt off to compile and use wiped out for no apparent reason - very maddening to say the least!

One of my favorite apps

I get bored very easily and I am constantly wanting to learn new, random things. Tinycards is perfect for this. It is one of my most used apps recommend it to all my friends and family. I love the diversity of topics and how easy it is to make your own flash cards. With that said, Tinycards isn’t perfect. Sometimes flash card stacks are 100% accurate when made by other users. It can also be frustrating when the langue topics that go with Duolingo get difficult faster than Duolingo. However, I really enjoy this app and it is great for keeping the brain active. If you love gaining knowledge for knowledge’s sake, Tinycards is for you.

Nice idea!

Good app but could be improved

I like the app but there are some things that could be better. I wish it followed Duolingo a little closer. The ‘skills’ are in a different order and not everything in Duolingo is in TinyCards, so I thought I was doing both at the same time then found that I had missed Family in TinyCards because it is just way further down the list. Additionally the cards will give you words you haven’t learned in Duolingo. (Ex: Family in Tiny Cards teaches you ‘al’ which I haven’t learned in Duolingo even though I only have 3 lessons left then Family will be complete.) Maybe this is intentional? It says it follows the skills in Duolingo so I didn’t think so. Also some words have multiple meanings but it will count it wrong if you don’t use a certain one in TinyCards (Duolingo seems to accept each meaning), but neither app has bothered to teach what the difference is and how to know when to use each (Ex: perdón and disculpe can both mean ‘excuse me’, so which do you use?)

Great ... if you can read it

The flashcards work just fine, but one huge issue: app does not conform to accessibility settings. Who thought that putting the answers in light blue on a white background in eight point type was a great idea? And then, not allow that to be adjusted, either within the app or via iOS’s standard accessibility settings, except via a full-screen magnifier (which is both overkill and annoying)? You can’t even set this as a card designer, so even if I wanted to make my own decks that allow for high contrast and visible-to-the-naked-eye text sizes, I can’t, except to make every card an image, which isn’t acceptable for language learning. Very odd ... and should be easily changed by the developer.

Swipe gesture stopped working

KrisMuse

The swipe gesture worked at first, then stopped working making it difficult to use the app.

Why do turn this into social media?!

Followers ! We don't need them with a flashcard app ! It cool that you can make your own and I guess if you cab share them but you never know who is correct or not ! Honestly doulingo is just better ! I wish I hadn't gotten the app because of its pointlessness I guess extra practice but really not worth the SPACE!

Great companion to Duolingo

Overall I think this is a great app. It works especially well with Duolingo as it has flash card sets that correspond to the lessons. I also like that it is very easy to make your own flash card sets. There are a few things that I feel would improve Tinycards. It would be nice to have an option to be quizzed on both sides of the cards but not on the additional “fact” separately. I have made some cards with a Spanish phrase on the front and the English translation on the back. I like to add a picture to the back to better remember. Unfortunately I end up being quizzed on the English phrase that corresponds to the picture. I also agree with the previous reviewer that the time frame that the app wants you to revisit the cards is very short. I also feel it would better to match the Duolingo app.
