Perfect nintendo game that never was.

Unfortunately it does become impossible in later levels. Others have said control issues but I'm stuck on a level that seems impossible even if you had a joystick. I'm still giving it 5 stars and considering how far I made it to be the end of the game. I had more fun than most apps. Has anyone solved it?

Keep coming back to it...

It's hard for me to really enjoy most games. This one fits in as my absolute favorites on iOS.

10/10.

Excellent game.

Was promising but...

Love the graphics and sound design, but the controls hamper the enjoyment and gameplay as the levels progress. Particularly the reversal animation. Level 7-7 becomes a frustrating tap feat because the delay in reversal timing and actual taps not recorded conspire to just make the level near impossible. If the rocket requires x number of pixels for launch animation and x number of pixels for reversal, then level 7-7's passage must be the exact sum plus a 1% leeway to execute the maneuver. I realized this problem in the early levels, but there was still plenty of level to actually execute the maneuver. Not so in later levels. It's not a matter of game physics either, like the rocket slows and then reverses, it is actually just the fact that one tap is required to launch and then another tap AND a release apparently are required to reverse. An otherwise good game save that major flaw.

Promising but ruined by controls

I liked a lot of this game, with its cute aesthetics and clever levels. Nevertheless I gave up in level 6 because the controls were far too frustrating. The basis behind the higher level puzzles is quick, precise mid-air reverses, but because the reverse registers on touch UP rather than touch DOWN the way my reflexes want to work I'm constantly crashing and restarting. I thought that even with an understanding of how the controls register that I could get it, but in a twitchy, reflex-based game like this that hasn't been possible. You can probably get over the control issue with enough practice and acclimation, but that process is far too long and frustrating for my patience.

Beautiful artwork and classic soundtrack

The last rocket is not to be missed.

Very well done

I can honestly say that this is one of the best games I've come across. Very well done and extremely entertaining. If I'm playing a game on my phone it's for sure the last rocket.

one of my faves

TheRealMyFault

One of my favorites ios games. controls were challenging at first, but i think the developer did a great job of ramping up the difficulty level. not that i didn't curse his name on occasion (lol), but i was able to finish it and enjoyed having my skills pushed. I also really enjoyed the making of ebook he just put out. showed how much planning went in to the game and how much it changed over time. will definitely purchase his next game!

Great but hard!

This game is a beautiful piece of work! Fantastically tight controls. It's rare to find a game like that that merges old-school NES style fundamentals with a deep understanding of modern touch screen games. I will admit though, the game is very hard! Most negative reviews up here come from sore losers. I'll admit… I'm stuck on one of the latter levels. I just can't beat it!! But I've had an outstanding time getting there. Hopefully I'll make it all the way someday.

LOVE this game!

I'll admit that this game can be a little hard at times, but every game should be challenging. I love that it brings back the simple controls and objectives of retro games as well as a super cute character. Can't go wrong with a cute rocket. Overall, fantastic game. Catchy music, entertaining, and really well made. Five stars & two thumbs up. :)
