Excellent weekly news app

I love the Beast because the range of “news” is compelling - history, science, politics, current events, you name it. The app is easy to use, just scroll through the headlines and pick a topic. I like how the progress bars show how much I have read, and how the stories are checked off as I finish them. I call it weekly news because it is not the “latest”, but there are plenty of those, so this fills the gap of background and extraneous news. Love it all, and the app is easy to use.
Missing Search Function Reduces Value

Without a search function you severely reduce the value of the app. Time is precious. To make it worth including the DB in our daily reading spectrum, we need to be able to access specific information more quickly than having to peruse the entire daily story load.

Probably the worst app on my phone. I used to love reading the Daily Beast, but have all but given up. The problems are the same as you'll read on other reviews...maddeningly interminable start-up times, the ghosted B&W photos behind the bold headlines are hard to see and might as well not be there, and the "read/skip" thing is mystifying....is there ANYONE out there who cares about their read-to-skipped ratio? I don't. Daily Beast...fix this app.

Honestly, how is it possible this app is still so terrible? How is it even possible? My last review was several versions ago when it was a disaster... And it's still a complete disaster. Like, doesn't work at all. It's literally baffling why this can't be fixed or scrapped altogether in favor of an app that, you know... works.

You guys have great content but your developer has no clue how to load content off of the main thread. This app could easily be 5 stars with even a junior developer fixing the lack of asynchronous loading.

A few years back I downloaded this and hated it on such a visceral level, I just accessed the site through the web. Now I thought I would try again. All I can say is I hate this app on a level I can't even describe. The problem is it's not laid out in a user-friendly manner. It just totally feels wrong across the board - like driving on the wrong side of the street or putting your left shoe on your right foot. Why haven't they ever changed the app? Anyway, after 10 minutes I deleted the app and went back to web access.

Great great content. But do not like to be teased. Bad start-up, constantly freezes when it does work. Not worth my time to play with it. Erased it for now. Hoping they read my and other negative reviews and make it right.

Takes a minute to load all your news, a minute to load he article when you click on it, and another minute before the scrolling starts to work. All on an iPhone 6s

Upon opening on iPad, freezes up. Otherwise, an interesting new source. Going to delete it to make space for another App. Maybe I'll try it another time to see if bugs work out. Thanks.
