This app really needs a lot of work. The articles don't open up about half the time, they get stuck on the headline and don't click through. There's no difference between news headlines and feature stories in the app menu. The articles themselves have many misspellings in them, as if they were not only written quickly, but also not proofread. I'm also 90% certain that the app is mining data so that articles The Daily Beast thinks I want to read are featured based on my "lifestyle," spending habits or browsing history. A little spooky.

After all of the negative reviews, I downloaded the app and expected the worst. It works just fine and I recommend it.

How a company that lives on the web can survive serving its content through this nearly unusable app is a mystery to me. Design is okay, layout too, but responsiveness is off the charts—and not in a good way. It is catatonic. It's been this way forever. Come on, John, fix this thing!

I love the Daily Beast but the app is HORRIBLE! The screen freezes with every update & I usually give up. Tonight, I deleted the app & came to the app store to download again (thinking it might help). That's when I read the reviews & realized I wasn't the only one with this problem. So, I'll join the chorus in asking the same question: Why doesn't the Daily Beast fix the problem. (Personally, I blame Apple. With every new update of the OS, something I like goes screwy, putting Apple, IMHO, almost in the same category as Microsoft: There's always some glitch that will waste hours of your life!)
