No Dark Mode Support
Ronfrank

How hard is it to implement Dark mode support?

Technology ‘News’?
MikesMadness

Content in the ‘Technology’ section has not changed in weeks. News marches on- the Globe is not there. Why don’t they have dates on stories? It would be too embarrassing.

Online version Good format
MissKitty99

Easy to follow, links directly from notification to article (not all news app do ) . Pleased with newsworthiness of notifications they choose to send out and speed of app. Also I like having the option to see paper in print format. I am in trial phase, and pleased with the online presentation and ease of navigation. I would like to subscribe permanently , but I Am not sure for how long I will subscribe only because newspaper subscriptions and other online news related, TV, and entertainment subscriptions add up, and I am retired on fixed income. .

Online is easier to read and navigate
Cbrk1009

I am a globe subscriber and have been reading the globe via the the web with no trouble. After many months of the globe pushing me to the app because they claim it is a better experience I decided to try it. In short, this must be about advertising or something because the app itself is harder to navigate and read that the online versions. The good thing is that the fix is easy - just uninstall the app and keep reading via the web. If they really want people to use the app they should at least make the experience the same as the web version and then add features or allow you to personalize. Right now it much worse and harder to get to relevant articles than just reading on the web. Uninstalling now - may try again in a few months.

I wish they presented the news in a fairer way.

I understand that the Boston Globe leans left. That’s fine. I also read papers that lean right. But I do wish it at least proffered some news that wasn’t so politically biased. I wish this because of two primary reasons. First, the audience is disrespected. We’re treated as too ignorant to get the news straight and factual and decide on our own the ramifications. We also so get all the news, not just the news slant that favors any bias. Second: All newspapers should clearly identify their opinion pieces. Far too often the Globes news stories are really opinion pieces. Fine, but be honest and label them as such.

Constantly kicks me out to internet and puts up paywall
littlextinaa

I have a subscription but it constantly kicks me out of the app to a browser then puts up the paywall. I love the publication but the app is terrible. Its basically not usable in its current state.

Annoying logins
Kathy the Gameplayer

It really annoys me how often I have to login when I click a hyperlink. This doesn’t happen when Iam reading the New York Times,

Dark Mode support please !
Tidal Crest

I’d really appreciate Dark Mode support for the app. I use the app on an iPhone and it has been quite functional for me. Side swiping to access various sections is nice. It’s unclear if “Use System Font” really does anything.

Pay up
Camano Bob

Being 2700 miles from home, I like to look at the Boston Globe at times to see what is up back home. The issue is that I have to pay to read any stories. Sorry, not that interested to spend what I don’t have just to see news from Boston!
