Disgrace
avidglobereader

This app is a disgrace. It is mind boggling that such a fine paper cannot offer a decent app to read on all devices. While seeming to allow a download of a static paper so you could read offline, it requires an internet connection to read it.

Upgraded to ok
vieuxbatard

Update again: this time it was iOS failure. A reboot and a reinstall worked, seems iOS forgot how to do any networking at all. Three stars since articles work haphazardly but it’s a start after over four years. My guess for others having trouble is maybe the age of the iPad? Update may 2018: now worse than ever. Will not function even after deleted and reinstalled. If I could give zero stars I would. Worst piece of junk I have ever used. We are down to a single newspaper in Boston, barely, and that is the only reason I continue to pay. Thanks John Henry! Fire your digital team. It's great when it works, but constant struggles with the store and now it simply crashes repeatedly....latest update is suddenly very unstable as of May 27, 2014. Not happy as I am a paid subscriber to the globe. Not acceptable. As of iOS 11this app is junk. Basically needs to be deleted and reinstalled daily. How is the globe not getting it? Dump your app developer. How hard can this be?

Hard to swipe
Joe_in_boston

I am not sure what issues others have with freezing, but I'll share mine. It is hard to swipe to another page and sometimes the page changes, but often it quivers but doesn't move or doesn't even quiver. When you get frustrated, and swipe several times, the page quivers and then, a few seconds later, several pages sweep across the screen unstoppably. Some parts of the paper are more prone to get stuck, like the obituaries (thank you very much) or color ads. Going back to a previous page is particularly problematic and probe to not respond to the sweep.

Still waiting - what’s the holdup
Moogeeg

Cancelled my subscription about a year ago out of frustration with the app. Assumed I would re-subscribe after the app was straightened out. Still waiting. Update: make that two years ago now. What’s the holdup?

Audio function
11dmack11

Why did the app regress and lose the audio function. I once found this function quite useful and I now miss it very much. It was a huge timesaver listening to articles while I was working out or other activities when I’m unable to look at my phone. Please restore this function and get the app’s progress at least going forward and not backwards.

Truly awful app
CT02118

Each day a battle to download and use. Why doesn’t the Globe fix it? Was this designed by John Henry’s grandson or some family friend? There must be a back story as to why it’s so badly done.

Constant crashing
fintouch

Sure hope this app gets repaired Very Soon, or will be time to cancel my subscription as the constant crashing is highly annoying

Keeps saying pass word invalid yet I can access the paper from my lap and desk top computers.

Big improvement!
GillianNina

Much better than it was a couple of years ago when I last used it.

Invest in a better App
Cerny!

Pales in comparison to other similar apps from the Washington Post and New York Times. As a subscriber, this is a major disappointment.
