Could have been better

Samba connection works, terminal works fine too. But few improvements really requires - 1) persistent smb connection, 2) mosh client in addition to ssh terminal. 3) a built in terminal for accessing ipad file system.

More than just a swiss army text editor

drumcat

Fantastic tool. Used in conjunction with your favourite git tool, Textastic is an outstanding code app for slinging text anywhere you need. Excellent support.

Simply amazing

Wow, I gotta hand it to the creators of this app, it is simply amazing. I’m a web developer and when I’m away from my computer it is a struggle to write code on my phone. The normal texting keyboard just won’t cut it, that’s where Textastic comes in. With almost everything being customizable, code completion and intuitive shortcuts for all the normal dev symbols ex. (){}[]=$”; etc. this app is well worth the $9.99. Also, this app is very well maintained and is consistently being updated with fixes and requests from users on how to make the app better. Anyone writing code on the go should definitely pick this up. Great job!

Fantastic mobile code editor

I’ve been using Textastic off and on for over a year, and recently on a regular basis. I’m real impressed with it. Nice interface, easy to use, an incredibly well designed set of keyboard additions, and works well alongside Working Copy for all my version control needs. I’m less able to be at a desktop than I used to, and this makes coding more accessible for me again ?

Best code editor on the App Store

Bnny boy

I use this to make games and websites while on my breaks at work. The fact that you can quickly swipe your finger left or right to move the cursor a single unit at a time in either direction is so useful that I wish Apple just made it a default feature on iPhones. The SSH integration is also really nice and the interface is great. The interface is so intuitive and wonderful. I love this app to death and it is worth every cent. Also the developer has amazing customer service skills and spent weeks helping me fix a crashing bug over email. ?

Wow

This app definitely beat my expectations. I once thought there would be no way in heck that anyone could ever program from a phone. I was wrong, because of this app.

One of my favorite tools

BasenjiBuddy

In the past several decades I’ve used a wide variety of text editors on all sorts of platforms. Textastic is one of the best I’ve ever used. It works well on all of my devices; it gets used for everything from writing scripts and configuration files to taking down notes. I’m also visually-impaired, and the ability to customize the interface to make it easier to use is extremely helpful. VoiceOver support is fairly solid, and overall it’ easy to navigate the UI. The developers have done a good job and as a result Textastic is well worth the money.

Clone your Git repo into iCloud

This is a fantastic application that allows you to do computer programming on the iPad. Paired with a Smart Keyboard and iCloud on a macOS device, you can accomplish many tasks in an Xcode project, like cleaning up code, adding comments, or writing basic functions. The app supports Swift, Objective-C and Java syntax highlighting, in addition to web languages. 1. The best way to use this app is to clone your Git repo into iCloud using macOS. 2. Open the Git repo from Textastic in iOS under the iCloud folder. 3. Write code in Textastic for iOS and save to the iCloud folder. 4. Go on your Mac with Git and commit the changes to the iCloud folder when you’re ready. Using this method, and an Apple Smart Keyboard with iPad Pro 10.5, I’m able to write code for a few hours in bed, then commit my changes using my Macbook Air. For Optimal UX Use: - Theme: Black - Code Editor Theme: Blackboard - Dark Keyboard - Font: Source Code Pro - Font Size: 15pt

Can you explain
