Tempo SlowMo is an ideal practice tool for musicians, dancers and language students. Using technology developed for our Chord Detector and Chord Tutor apps, Tempo SlowMo’s sleek and simple design helps you practice playing songs, dance routines or learning a new language by slowing down or speeding up an audio tracks BPM (beats per minute) without affecting its pitch.

Just hit the Music button within the app to reveal the available audio import options. Import an audio file from your iPod music library, Dropbox account or over WiFi network directly to your device. Tempo SlowMo will then load the audio file which you can then play, pause, slow down and speed up to your hearts content.
Tempo SlowMo also has a feature allowing you to drop markers at any point in the track so that you can quickly skip back to that point if there is a particular bit of a track you are trying to master. Special Loop Markers allow you to loop part of a track if you need to master a specific section. Start and End Track Markers allow you to override the point where a track begins and ends.
As well as being able to import audio files from different sources you can also make your own recording and save it for future use.
Export features are now provided as of version 1.3.0. You can export the changes you made to an audio file to MP4 and upload it to Dropbox or send it as an email attachment.
Please note that this app does not support tracks which are DRM protected.

● Playlist – create, update, save and load playlists of tracks. BPM lock feature included which enables you to play an entire playlist at the same BPM.
● Pitch Changer – alter the pitch in 0.5 semitone increaments between -12 and +12 semitones.
● BPM Tapper – determine the BPM of your track.
● Equaliser Control – isolate specific frequency bands with this 10 band equaliser.
● Balance Control – change the volume per channel.
● Remove Adverts – The app is free but contains adverts. Use this option to remove the adverts.

This app is crazy useful, but it’s crashing and won’t open recently. So this app basically became useless after the most recent apple update.

This app made picking up speed melodies easier enabling me to slow down the speed in real time. I also enjoyed the ability to loop parts. Now the app doesn’t load and I would be shocked to find something to replace this. Sad really.

I’ve had this app for about 4 years, and it’s made learning, practicing, and teaching songs so much easier and more efficient. I give lessons at a music store, and have around 45+ lessons individual lessons a week. I recommend this to nearly every student I have, current and new. Learning songs I’ve never heard before is a weekly occurrence. Being able to slow songs down to hear the small nuances of a part more clearly is great. Changing pitch to match an easier to attain tuning is a huge time saver. The circular design is the most intuitive I can imagine a tool like this could have. I’ve used audacity, Adobe’s Audition, garageband/logic to change tempo and pitch. This app produces the same great sound 1000% faster, and it’s mobile. My hopes for the app have been waning as it hadn’t been updated in 4 or so years, BUT praises be to the developer for FINALLY adding Apple Music support. It was the #1 reason students and friends didn’t use the app. Idk if the issue was Apple or the app not being a priority. Things that could be improved: Spotify compatibility- this is the biggest downside I find when referring this to my students and friends. I have a personal collections of nearly 5000 songs on my phone, but most students (and people) use streaming now. I understand that DRM is the enemy of this issue, and isn’t necessarily an issue the developer has full control over. However, this app not being able to use this common resource is making it less attractive to potential customers. A rough estimate is 2 of 5 of my students use Apple Music while the others use Spotify. There are other similar apps that have Spotify functionality through Spotify’s “musicians practice edge” feature. Please add this! Even with an in-App purchase like other tools the apps offer. I have a slew of bugs and feature tweaks I would love to share with the developer, but I’ve not been able to get in touch with them. I’ve tested this app in every way probably, I’m still a fan, and want to see it succeed. Great job, keep up the support!
Bug problem!

Cannot upload anymore! What happened to this app? I had always been able to upload songs from iTunes that Originally came from CDs I purchased. All of a sudden, this app will no longer allow me to do so. It requires that I subscribe to Apple Music now. Why? I want to load songs that I purchased on CD as well as others from iTunes I recorded live. This app is useless now, as I can no longer load music onto it. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED!

This app used to be my go-to music player. I had unlocked all the features and was putting use to the pitch and tempo changer. Now, when you add a song, the pitch changer feature locks up and you can only change the tempo of the song. Can this app be fixed please it’s the only app on iTunes that allows you to add music from your Apple Music library and edit pitch/tempo.
