best jrpg game of my life
herooftimex3ds

i always play tales games for my entire life and tales of crestoria is the best jrpg game that i ever experienced

Not for casual play
Jacob Pauley

*warning* long and thorough review As a casual player of games I initially enjoyed the story and character leveling of this game, After about 80 hours invested in the game I’ve hit a XP cap for my characters the only way to leave them higher to to engage in raids to get the items I need, each raid takes about 8mins and I only get 1 item per 4ish raids. Each character requires around 40 items to level up. This requires entire days to get a small portion of the items you need to reach high levels. After the initial leveling Lv80 or so them game requires a substantial time investment, not to mention the money grab “gleamstones” which you use to summon rare characters. I’ve summoned close to 300 times ($80.00 for 8K stones, 10x summon costs 2.5k stones) and only received 7 SSR characters (highest level characters). I’m not oppose to paying for a in-game item but the price seems much to steep for the reward, often all you receive is lots of lower level “SR” characters that are effectively worthless in-game. The frustrating part to reaching high level is the constant connection issues, I play on 120mbps internet and constantly am disconnected during raids and have the game crash. Overall I give the game a 1/5 for story and addictive qualities, the other four stars I would award for less time investment requirements and more reasonable price for in-game purchases. This game is definitely not for casual players of mobile games Changed my rating from 1 to 3, still a large time investment but getting better. If game devs see this please note that all sounds can be muted except the loud sound from dealing critical damage. I like to listen to music while I have this game on but the critical damage sound keeps blaring through my speaker

Summon Rates & Costs Dismal
Meownster Hunter

Tales is one of my favorite RPG series, so I am very disappointed to report that this game has unfair summon rates / currency cost considering how many repeat pulls you’ll need to max a character. I WANT TO SPEND MONEY ON THIS GAME, but when there’s a huge chance my money won’t get me the character I want, I feel cheated. This is gambling, and it’s unethical. Other gatcha games are much more fair, and this one, despite being a Tales game, is not worth any of our money yet. That all said, this game has story content, it has events, and it has character progression, so it’s not hopeless.

Interesting amazing game
twinks456

The game grand in a special. The bugs are not worth the trouble to not chance the gameplay. I feel the company in charge of this app is doing there best. Maybe they can come up with the defense play for there is no defense besides having a character or hero. To put a magic spell to protect you. An I do feel that’s not fair. An that the hero should pass up a turn settled in defense mode. Since the game get harder as stages go up. Which I enjoy the challenge for experience points. It does work wonders. Overall. To say less. The story an game I feel well worth my anime time.

One Long Connection Error

Too many crashes
Sound_machine06

I really enjoy this game but it crashes way too often.

Crashing after update
Nettefromtheinternef

The game crashes on start up and is currently unplayable for me

Only a three due to issues

While I do like the game it feels like playing an even grinder version of Granblue Fantasy. The story is great don’t get me wrong but going through later stages with the sudden difficulty spikes doesn’t inspire me much to pull through. I do try to train all the SSR units that I have but it’s still not enough. If my team gets wiped out on normal can’t imagine hard and very hard. I don’t want to end up using my stones for continues constantly because I’d rather hoard them for new units. Plus the Phantom tower also needs adjusting, I get getting harder to clear as we reach new floors but the lower levels should be this hard. And onto the connection errors, they’re getting more frequent than before. So much I can’t even do raids without the loading screen taking 5 or so minutes or not letting me enter at all. And it seems connection errors isn’t limited to raids either. I want to keep playing so please bamco do something about the unnecessary difficulty spikes and the connection errors.

Adventures in Disappointment!
akidnamedty

Now that the game has been released over a month. There’s still many bugs to be found in the game. The game runs off a single server out of Japan. -So if you’re in the US, it messes up your ability to farm certain items due to the time of day restrictions. -The arena kicks you out for no reason (give you an auto loss) or the screen is black and white for no reason (texture mapping loading issue)making your battles harder. -There is no quality of life except for an auto-battle function, so in order to farm. You have to be on the app constantly. The game is very 2d (quests, raids, and arena) for a gatcha game. Not to mention to start a battle you have to go through 4 screens asking if you want to select a useless food dish for battle that have little to no effect in this particular game. - There’s guilds, but not guild wars. With not nearly as much content as other games. -The UI is super cluttered when you open the main menu you slapped with another 16 buttons, and it doesn’t feel as intuitive as other Tales games. -of the 3 events we’ve had, 2 have been so buggy that I couldn’t start anymore raids for 2 days at a time, the supposed fix didn’t solve the problem and had to wait til the faulty raid timed out. The second didn’t have the bonus costume elements that we could redeem with IGC tickets. But they still put them in daily quests... with no added benefit (had over 300 left after redeeming the costume items). -On the positive side!!!! like all Tales games the story, character development, animation and art are all exactly as we’ve come to expect. But it just isn’t enough to make up for the rest of the problems. This game feels rushed, seems as though they didn’t run through enough beta testing, if at all.

Rates Ups Are A Lie
Illadelph42

I’m getting so sick of these games where the Rate Up is a 100% lie. Since this game came out every single banner if you manage to even get an SSR it will always be an unfeatured one...always! There NEEDS to be a pity system if y’all are gonna run your game like this. The only time I got an SSR I summoned for since launch was the starting selector.
