Failed me when I needed it most

Last year I went to Australia and figured Sygic would be ideal for finding my way around without using mobile data. The first time I really had to depend on it was when I drove from the airport to my hotel. I got within a kilometer of the hotel and ... the app crashed. That was beyond stressful because: (A) I was in a strange place and had no idea of where I was, (B) I was driving on the left for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, and (C) Tasmania has insanely strict laws about driving with a phone -- you're not allowed to touch one while driving, or even have it on the seat next to you (it has to be mounted on the dash). Fortunately, I was able to yell out "Hey Siri, take me to <hotel name>" and Apple Maps came to my rescue. For the rest of the trip, I relied on Apple or Google Maps. That was a year ago, so why am I reviewing it now? Because I got a notice of new maps and, while updating them, the app crashed -- cue the flashbacks. I want to love Sygic, but it's way too unstable, especially when the app crashing could lead to a real life crash.

I'm screwed now.

Leaving on a multistate motorcycle trip this morning. Updated this app, and now it doesn't work. The app partially loads, then crashes. Rebooting doesn't help. My first stop today, will be to buy paper maps. Never again!

Absolutely disappointed! My second address input came out “ did not found “ Really? Googly- maugly and herwego has no problem to find it and those are free apps! I cooled down and the next day I tried a another one and guess what: I have been navigated by two blocks away into a different Ct. Message to the developers: this app is a piece of garbage for $11! Get out guys! PS: if anyone from the developer team wants to know that two addresses let me know, and trust me; there you go! Have a nice day!

I thought I’d see if there were any new navigation apps other than Waze, Apple Maps, and Google maps. I downloaded this program and saw I needed to download each state I was going to travel in l before I could use it. Okay, that might be handy so I went along. After that, I plugged in an address that I’m traveling to next week, about 400 miles away. Sygic told me 8 hours to drive and took me through the middle of town of a major city. Apple, Google, and Waze kept me on major highways and were an hour shorter in driving time. No thanks Sygic. Maybe another time. You’re not getting me to buy any premium stuff when your basic stuff is so wrong.

I installed the app, bought all the premium add in’s and tried it for four days.. I find the graphics “ok” but nothing special..as for the rest..a waste of money for sure and time as well. Nothing to see hear ... And oh yes..I would rather not have to be looking at my iPhone screen when driving...after I paid for the premiums

The product overall is good, but the frequent alerts of “promotional offers” and other add-on advertisements do become a bit excessive. My suggestion to the developer would be to tone those down a bit. Lastly, thanks to iOS14, I learned that Sygic tried to access/view devices on my network. I really don’t think a navigation app needs to know what the digital footprint of my network looks like... (I knocked the rating down due to this.)

Not what I anticipated

I recently purchased the premium app with several add-ons. I was especially excited about the Real-View Navigation feature. I even purchased a holder so my phone could view the road. I was so disappointed with the view. The lines would not stay true to the streets and curves are the worse. It seems like the line is just laid on the display since it knows the path, not because it sees the actual road. What makes me say this? If I start a trip in my house, it displays the road through the walls! The navigation is buggy with used with Apple Car Play. Sometimes it will not talk and freezes. While I want to like this app, I can’t recommend it in its current state for iPhone users. I really would like a refund and maybe I’ll try it again in the future once improved.

Not the shortest nor fastest route

Very frustrating when app sends me through all the big cities and big freeways and calls it the shortest route or the fastest route. There is a similar app in Google that does a much better job for free. Very frustrated when I switched to an IPhone and lost that particular app.
