Surface- Alone in the Mist - or are you?
Dracyy

Morning of your 16th birthday and your parents disappear! Most kids would say yippee and throw a party particularly since all the adults disappeared too but not you! No, you go looking for the missing adults. Elephant did a great job on this installment. Each Surface is unique and plays well as stand alone. Transporting indicated map, quick transition between scenes, combining items is a bit of a pain in the rump but doable. I Really Wish there was a match 3 alternative to HO, but at least they are well drawn. Some mini games (pop up scenes) are too small for me to see comfortably but then again I'm blind as a bat. Keep your eyes open for hidden flowers in all scenes, usually more than one (and they like to hide them in letters and notes too) and come in silver, gold, shades of red etc. hang on for a wild ride and enjoy!

Wish I hadn't
Namaste to All

I'm bored with this series. Nothing new here folks!

Not what pics show

I just played Mystery Tales Alaska and the pics shown here look like the same game, but once I bought this game I was relieved to notice it is NOT what the pictures show. This is a really good one! Glad I bought it!

Great game! I love the story. Good hints, teleporting map, and great puzzles. I haven't had anything to complain about. I'm so glad I purchased this one.

Don't Just Scratch the Surface!

Surface: Alone in the Mist is another outstanding episode in this series. Each one is completely different, so don't be afraid to try it. Excellent story line and clear artwork make it a pleasure to play. Good Hint, Skip, and Transport make it easy to enjoy. I love the collectible flowers in the Surface series. When you reach a certain number of flowers, you may play games in the Secret Room, even if you are still playing the Main Game. Your character in the Secret Room asks you to play either a Hidden Object or Mini Game (your choice.) After you discover who is trifling with the Orphanage, you go to a Dream World that reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, with giant candy, toys, and magical animals. Fun! I am so delighted that I purchased this game. I anticipate playing it many times, not just once!

Please make more like this! It was spooky and fun! Good plot line and not too easy to solve. I love that you have a little more control of the story by being able to choose what your character says! Amazing! Keep it up!

Hum drum, boring, same old, etc. Not even close to one of Elephant Games better efforts

On The Surface: This Game is Fun!

UPDATE: I just finished the main game, which did not contain that many locations and deducted a star. This game is offensively short; one of the shortest yet! I'm shocked that other players did not comment on this. The bonus is usually short as well so I feel that I did not get my money's worth. You are Carol, and you wake up on your 16th birthday; however, you are celebrating alone this year. Your parents, as well as all the other adults, have completely disappeared! Now this would have been a kid's dream come true in certain circumstances when I was growing up, but there's something suspicious going on here. Is this bizarre occurrence connected to the sinister girl in your dreams? The graphics are very clear using brighter shades of colors; the artwork is embellished with nicely textured and well-drawn scenes creating a vivid, realistic environment. There are four modes of difficulty, including an option to customize your settings. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items will require assembly. Transition between scenes appears to be smooth and quick. The fast teleportation map indicates available tasks to complete. Your "Note" book is accessed by clicking on both the book symbol with a mask and the map in the lower left hand corner. Your "computer" type map will open; then you open your Note Book. This records the story as you progress. I like how you get snippets of your memories when you touch certain objects, such as a picture of your Mom triggering a memory of her at her cafe. You also use a camera to take photos of clues at times. The HOS were varied and fun; one type is to find the items by their silhouette shapes. Another more unique type is a scene with audio narration because your police officer Dad is interrogating some students about a teacher's disappearance. You will find the objects as he speaks; how creative! The puzzles are simple but fun. One type is to swap/put pieces of picture fragments between multiple pictures of different themes where they belong. You collect flowers in the locations; they are easy to spot and are also hidden in pop-up boxes. The extras include a secret room where you replay HOS and puzzles for characters to earn stars, etc. I am really enjoying this installment after last week's bummers. By the way, LynxMinx and all reviewers: Since you might be looking for different games to play, check out some by Alawar Entertainment. Google one and you will see their others. I suggest you play the following at lower prices: Weird Park 3 Final Show The Other Side: Tower of Souls (awesome!) Dark Angels: Masquerade of Shadows I played these last year, some before I started reviewing. They are great for the price.
