Does not control Hue

Technologuy

Connects and shows status of my Hue but can not control. I hate giving permission to my devices only to remove permission 5 minutes later.

Works but......

BigGoober

Seems to work, there is sometimes a delay getting notifications, I depend on the app to let me know when a gate is opened or closed so my critters don't get out. Setting up a flow is not logical, but once you guess the process it works.

IMO - The Best

Started in IOT to make my house smarter and then came across this app/service. At first it was hard to get a handle on it, documentation is minimal and you have to look for it. Then you come across the forum, the folks are very helpful. The light bulb starts getting brighter and then you realize that this isn't hard at all. I have made my house do what I want when I want and life is wonderful. To paraphrase a shoe company - JUST DO IT!

Works well but needs iPad support

This is a review of the app, not the service which would get 5 stars from me so far. Working would flows on a larger screen would be great, unfortunately this app stills runs in iPhone mode on an iPad. (Is it really that difficult to support both device sizes when the support is already in Apple’s dev framework?)

Powerful app ruined by inconsistency

MorseCode4650

Stringify is definitely an incredibly powerful tool for home automation while still being easy to use. Unfortunately, given how inconsistent Stringify is about triggering my location based flows, I had to switch back to the less powerful but more consistent IFTTT app. My smart home is supposed to just work after I set up geofencing. With Stringify, I had to constantly worry about whether my flow triggered correctly or not. That’s a no-no.

More useful than Home app, but only on iPhone.

Stringify has proven to be a go-to app for putting together more complex automation flows than are possible on the Home app. Yes, this means you’re giving up privacy and performance to effectively “offshore” your home automation outside of your home. But until Apple gives us something better, this works. Docking a star for only working on iPhone. No iPad app? Seriously? Come on, guys. Stringify deserves to shine on the screen real estate of our tablets, where large complex flows can be taken in all at once.

Does not work.

The app fails to allow the full scope of programming one would expect to accompany the wide array of products it supports. Programming the so-called “flows” is a ridiculously counter-intuitive process that almost always results in failure. The developers really need to fix the programming functionality.

Slow UI

I like this app. I can do a lot more with this than IFTTT. However this app is slow I think it is mostly web base instead of native.

Interconnectivity for the entire Smart Home / IoT ecosystem!

Blendrix

With Stringify, I can make all of my Smart Home & IoT devices & apps talk to each other, as well as add extra features they don’t support individually. For instance, I installed a Z-Wave light fixture in the doghouse with an incandescent bulb, to be used as a makeshift remote-controlled space heater for the colder months. With Wink, I could put it on a timer, or add a few conditions based on other devices the Wink has access to, but I couldn’t tell it to turn on between sunset and sunrise, ONLY IF the overnight temperature drops below a certain point. I could add an external temperature sensor that connects to Wink, but that would cost extra money, and I would have to remember to calibrate it, charge its batteries, etc. But with Stringify, I was able to create a Flow that does exactly what I just described, because it can access external data feeds, like the local weather forecast and current readings. Now, the doghouse light automatically turns on between sunset and sunrise ONLY IF the overnight low temp is forecasted to be 10° above freezing or colder. It works FLAWLESSLY. If you love all your smart gadgets and appliances, but find their native apps and APIs lacking in interconnectivity and/or functionality, give Stringify a try. It’s easily the most powerful Smart Home / IoT app available. My only suggestion to the devs: Make your app device-agnostic. Designating it as “iPhone Only,” effectively prevents it from showing up in the default App Store search results on any iOS device other than an iPhone. You’re missing out on a lot of potential new users, simply because they can’t discover your app organically while browsing other Smart Home / IoT apps, and often probably won’t find it even if they’re looking for it specifically. I’m pretty savvy, and it even took me a few minutes to figure out that I had to change the search results filter in order to find and install Stringify on my iPad. If I had been someone less stubborn than myself, I might have just given up and gone back to IFTTT. Just my 2¢.

Wow, much better than the last time I tried it

I tried this app a few months ago and could never get it to do what I want. I tired it again recently and found it to be working well! The UI needs some work and there is a learning curve to get it setup but if you can get past that it seems to work pretty well!
