Better control of Philips Hue through Google Home

WreckerDude86

I use Stringify hooked through IFTTT to activate scenes for my Philips Hue all over the house. Works like a charm! Set up voice command in IFTTT and then Stringify is able to activate different colors on each room as opposed to only being able to control one room with IFTTT alone. This is awesome!!! How is it free?

Can be 5 stars (someday)

The idea and flexibility is there but the execution is a little short (right now). I’m sure the developers will get it to 5 stars soon. Love the ability to string things together with times, delays, much better Boolean type logic than ifttt. For example, you can set a series and parallel logic to use a motion sensor on a camera to start recording, then 15 seconds later have a hue light come on upstairs, then 15 seconds later a light downstairs, then a few seconds later an alarm go off. The delays would make someone outside more likely to think you are home. That aspect is great. Some short comings: - no widget for iOS lock screen. I would love to be able to quickly access short cuts - app is a little clunky, needs better layout - no native iPad/tablet app that could take advantage of the larger screen

The best

It is just the best app in the world!

Very powerful and easy

I have used Tasker and IFFT. This is easier to use and well integrated. Perfect choice for iPhone users.

Solution to TONS of smart home projects

b.o.b.1kenobi

I’m a big tinkerer. I often love finding out if I *can* do something more than I love actually *doing* that something. Smart home tricks are almost addicting to me. I’ve explored dozens and dozens of options; hubs, devices, interfaces. More often than not, Stringify has ended up being my answer when I come up with another trick I want up my sleeve. The magic comes from the ability to control multiple devices in a sequenced flow. It introduces linearity to smart home functions. This sort of temporal control is very hard to achieve elsewhere, nonetheless in a simple, intuitive, graphical interface. Any missing functionality can often be brought in via IFTTT integration, or maker web hooks. Stringify isn’t without its issues. However, the team is very willing to help you out, whether on the forums or via email. It’s a powerful feature set that will require a bit of learning, no matter how intuitive the process may be. The acquisition by Comcast makes me nervous, but I’m told by said Stringify team we can expect to enjoy Stringify as we have prior to the acquisition for the foreseeable future, which was a huge relief!! Please don’t change that, Comcast! Overall, in love with Stringify!!
