Crashes immediately

It won’t even open for me. Says internet is down and there isn’t a connection even when there is one

Easy to use

iMcLovinIt

This is an excellent, simple, and polished way to create and listen to user-submitted podcasts. It has a nice radio feel to it as well.

Full song !!!

I love the app but I don’t like that the songs only play for a few seconds could you please allow listeners to hear the full song

The very crappy thing Anchor does

FB1223451111

We already have a podcast. But when I found out you could use this app to record phone interviews, I thought it would be great addition to our repertoire. Here’s the bad news: Anchor does everything in their power to keep you from being able to download and use your content independently. Read that as save it yourself and use a file off-line. They do intentionally. I think it’s crappy. And I basically figured out a 40 minute phone interview podcast that I use this app for was a complete waste of everybody’s time. Skip it. And while we’re on the subject, I think what they’re doing is pretty underhanded. It’s 2017. There are numerous broadcast channels that podcast or‘s need to use. So instead of using their app natively, and then winning in the marketplace; I’m dumping it. Screw these guys.

Good idea, needs some work

Something I’d really like to see and something that would get 5 stars is the ability to play music from your library, not just from Apple Music or Spotify, also music from YouTube music would be good too.

Audio is the next frontier! This app is ahead of the game!

I freaking love this app! As a podcaster, I see so much value in Anchor. I know that in a few years once everyone is more involved in audio content that anchor will be at the top of the charts for most used apps.

Needs to be simpler

ChrisGboy

I like the quality but all of the layout is just annoying in general. I do love the color and everything else but please make something more simple like an artist page rather than having a list pop up. Kind of like apple or Spotify podcast. The simpler the better. It just seems complex and annoying to deal with off the start. Please consider this. Thank you

Audio social network + podcast production

petrospective

I was looking for a way to dabble in simple podcast creation without having to learn a lot of new tools. Anchor does that job for me well enough. It also has this whole other layer, the social radio or audio social network, which i'm guessing will be its "killer app". It feels like a combination of a slightly asynchronous office water cooler and the early twitter user experience. The community is welcoming and warm. I would like to see more features for content creation, such as ability to run multiple stations, for instance, one "as myself" and another one "as a standalone brand". I would also like an ability to make some conversations less ephemeral, so that others can chime in asynchronously (bulletin board format but with audio segments), something like that. Overall, excited about the possibilities of this platform!

Very promising but usability issues

John5617282

First thing first. Great recording capability, easy to add a co-host as well. Biggest issue is once recording is complete it’s very hard to figure out how to edit, add background music, then publish. First, editing can’t be done on phones or tablets, which is hard to understand considering this is a mobile app. Second, the terminology is confusing. Stations are really episodes, and disappear after 24 hours unless archived. Why? Who knows. And don’t ask what episodes are. Also, it’s not easy to share access with your cohosts. Not sure why. Seems like there are lots of opportunities to streamline the workflow once a recording is made and to edit and share. Hopefully a product manager can rethink this.
