Solid, fairly priced

We are on our second year with Splashtop Business and use it to connect with various company computers when needed. Their pricing model is fair and doesn't limit how many computers are set up. We don't need remote often but this app works great when we do. Highly recommended.

Excellent App and afordable

Not as fast on older and integrated graphics computers but definitely cheaper!

Look - most of us are here either because Logmein got too expensive and greedy .. And/or you've worn out your welcome with Teamviewer. So what's wrong with Splashtop? Well, a lot is NOT wrong with it - but it still needs a good bit of polishing under the hood. It's getting better for sure - but still has a bit to go. I'll get to the point of what it does well and where it really needs to improve to be a serious competitor in the remote support app market (and where it can be King, make a lot of money, and not be greedy in the process): Pros: - Works well when the remote computer has a graphics card and is at least a Dual-core or better generation computer - Handles Windows UAC well and doesn't kick you on privilege escalation requests - Priced right! If they can get the performance even across the board - or at least acceptable - it will do well and be beloved. Do not commit treason by being greedy and raising the price and alienating your founding user base. Think Sam Walton and Walmart .. Work in volume. Cons: - Very slow on older computers and especially those with integrated graphics and low graphics memory / servers with integrated graphics. It can easily eat 90-100% cpu on an older computer unless you do an ugly temporary fix of disabling hardware (graphics) acceleration - and then you need to manually turn it back on afterwards. - Computers will randomly lose the ability to connect if they have lost their internet. This just happened recently to a client I needed to connect to after their cable provider had an outage. Their internet was up just fine because I could connect via Teamviewer. Needs to be a 'check' for connection occasionally to fix this issue. It also used to be very bad about losing it's deployment code upon an automatic update but this seems to be corrected hopefully. - Optimize screen and graphics compression and bandwidth over remote internet sessions. This is where Teamviewer is still king over Splashtop and even Logmein with it's ability to work well even under low bandwidth conditions. I still often get 'fuzzy' screens and freezing. Changing to 'smooth' is not acceptable - but there should be a lower color quality setting like Logmein and Teamviewer to help with this. - Fix GROUP SORTING in the iOS App. The Windows desktop client has this working but the iOS client is lacking. It's not even an option right now in the iOS version without filtering to ONLY that group. This works in the desktop client but badly need to be fixed in the iOS App. - Fix occasional 'already in session' bug where the streamer (remote end) does not connect and the client quickly says 'already in session'. - Lastly, have a bundle deal for users who already own the regular Splashtop Business and want to add the new SOS (Adhoc / no-install on-demand like Teamviewer) portion - like $100 flat-rate per year for both - or slightly more - but just not the $60 for regular Splashtop plus $100 for SOS. Also, SOS MUST support more than 1 connection per license .. More like 10 or technically unlimited as long as it's limited to 1 technician using that license at a time - just like the competition. I look forward to updates and improvements and will update this rating as Splashtop improves. I am a paid subscriber and just want Splashtop to be as good or nearly as good as Teamviewer and crush the competition by staying competitive and winning on a volume level. Until it's issues with older and integrated graphics computers improves - and the connection issues are fixed - I see it as a solid three star rating for now with much promise.

Works well so far

Well, after over 10 years LogMeIn finally changed how they charge such that it is too expensive for my purposes. So here I am! So far Splashtop Business allows me to do what I need, access my home and work computers, as well as computers of family members, for a reasonable price. Will update this if I run into any issues.

Lagging and slow

Skander08

My logmein central subscription is due, for renewal, looking for a cheaper alternative, I stumbled against splashtop for Business, I couldn't pass the first five minutes using it without it lagging and crashing. For now I will let you know my logmein Central subscription. And Will check them next year, hopefully by then they would've worked out all the performance issues.

Just renewed for a second year

Have never found a tool that works more consistently and discretely across all devices all the time. At $60 a year you're insane to even want to look elsewhere.

Amazing app!

Much better than rdp!

Great app and service

I was using Logmein for years and their pricing just kept getting higher and higher. I switched to Splashtop over a year ago and I have no issues with the service. Their pricing is fair which is most important to me. The couple of times I emailed support they were fast in their response.
