My wife and I have been trying for almost 4 months just to OPEN an account with SoFi. We have had issues every single step of the way. We have called customer service so many times they probably have our numbers memorized by now. In addition we have probably had over 50 emails trying to resolve the same issues. I have talked to multiple customer service reps today even and they all tell me the same thing, “we don’t know what’s wrong with your account, and we don’t know how to fix it”. When I ask to talk to someone higher up that has clearances to give me the information I’m requesting, I am told that they will just give me the same answer. 7/20/19 update Immediately following my poor app review, i was contacted by someone the next day saying my account was fixed and it was. Except my wife and I were trying to get a joint account. And of course SoFi rejected the joint account because my wife was in violation of some agreement. We checked all the information they told us to and verified her information was correct and of course everything was accurate and she was not in violation of anything, and as per usual sofi customer service went back to their canned response, “We don’t know what she is in violation, but we will get back to you when we can find something out as soon as possible. That was July 9th. No update no help. Don’t get involved with this company. If its this hard just top become a customer of a place that holds your money, it will be extremely difficult to resolve any issues you have when they have your money. Their customer service has helped me 1 time out of 50+ times being in contact with them. I never write reviews but after my dealings with them i will never recommend them to anyone. DO NOT INVEST IN YOUR MONEY IN POOR SERVICE.
Apple Pay & Linking

Apple Pay does not work. Really embarrassing, I've attempted to pay with Apple Pay 10 times over the past month and they all failed. Used Apple Pay for another bank, works just fine. Linking SoFi to my other accounts is also an issue. Repeatedly asks Verify account over and over. And this is for ALL my accounts.

I was referred by someone to get a student loan refinance. After the loan closed, I was directed to another app that is very out of date. (Still has a button to enable Touch ID, with no option for facial recognition.) The entire app is not as smooth as this one. I was also promised a referral credit which I never received. Waited for first payment to post to see if the credit would apply, and now I am being told that I waited too long to ask about it (even though it was mentioned during the process). Setup was great, and the process was easy, but now I am not sure I made the right decision choosing SoFi.

I was able to apply for, provide documentation for, check the status of, and sign my loan documents all within this app, all within a few hours. Great app. Sometime you have to reload a page but overall very impressed.
