It’s good...could be great!

Tapont71

This app works good for what it is, however it could be great. I love the fact I can have another number without having to get another phone. I tell everyone that is a business owner about this app however.... The drawback with this app is you get no notifications when someone sends you a text or voicemail. Also caller ID could be better. (Maybe show “CallerID by SmartLine.” Also improve the apps functionality; freezes up to where I have to kill the app several times everyday. As I said, this could be a great app Godaddy. Get these issues fixed and I’ll give you a 5star.

Great app! Just one problem.

The app’s greeting is only activated if I allow my phone to ring out, but if I actively decline a call, the caller is sent to my personal phone voicemail. This is problematic because my voicemail contains an automated message that reads of my personal phone number. No bueno.

2nd line 1 phone

Whoever came up with this idea is a genius! It’s hard enough to keep up with one phone. So being able to have two lines on one phone is great for business and still only have to carry one phone!!!

It’s ok

Seems like a lot of lag time when someone calls the 2nd number and doesn’t ring long before going to voicemail. I have to keep turning my phone off then back on to view incoming text messages which is a pain but it does work as a 2nd number.

Business use is a risk

I am having many of the same problems with the app on my fully updated iPhone 6s. Between the blank screens that either take forever to load or just never do until I quit and restart the app, to the delay in my contact’s names appearing instead of their phone number, to the abundance of junk calls, to the poor MMS implementation, this app feels like it belongs in 2005! Please work on making this app a little less glitchy and a lot faster. Sometimes it takes so long that by the time I am able to answer a call they’ve hung up. No good for business and I do want it to be. I love GoDaddy (as a dot.com era webmonkey would) and this, in theory anyway, is such a great solution for keeping my private phone number private and knowing when to answer with my company greeting. RingCentral’s mobile app was horrible back in 2011 when I tried it, but if this doesn’t start working better, I will have to check into it again or research alternatives or just pay to have a second phone. I have sent detailed answers with screenshots to the email address and Helen from the SmartLine team responded with a very simple email thanking me for the information and saying she will reach out to me if they need any further information, no suggestions for improving the apps functionality or constant lagging yet, but they are working on it. Update: Now it’s actually fully crashing on me after I wait 30-45 seconds for my main conversation list to appear and another 45-75 seconds to respond to me tapping into one of them! So now I have to go through the waiting process again and again until it manages to load a conversation without crashing, just so I can reply to a client who is waiting (while judging my responsiveness) for an answer. Can I port this number to another provider like RingCentral? I don’t want to lose the number I’ve put everywhere, but I can’t take much more of this poorly functioning app!

Not ready for prime time

This app has the following problems: 1) about half of the time the caller ID does not display when the phone rings. There is no fix for this. This makes it so the call appears as from a generic number and you can’t tell who it was without going into the app and cross referencing. 2) there is a noticeable delay between the time the caller makes the call and you can answer the call and the time the other person can hear you. There is no fix for this. It is because there are effectively two call setup operations happening. This leads to callers giving up before you have a chance to answer. 3) most important of all, the call is dropped about 5% of the time on answer. It just never goes through in my opinion. 4) it is not possible to forward the number to another phone number. 5) calling from the app to an outside number is not seamless as it requires an intermediate number to be dialed. This is due to iOS security but still slows down the process. On the plus side: A) texting works well. It may be worth it just for the second text destination. B) pricing is reasonable

Fraud

debbiegrick

Less than 24 hours after setting up my SmartLine, my cell phone carrier shut down my account due to fraudulent attempts into my account. In the 20 that years I have had the same cell phone number I have NEVER had this happen before. I am cancelling immediately.

Works

It works on my iPhone X and I live in “the last frontier”. Not the best clarity though. There’s a lag but hey it’s going through WiFi and data. The price could be a little cheaper but it includes some minutes and text which makes makes reaching out to clients easier. 5 stars if the clarity could be resolved. Not sure who to blame though, the service or the interweb.

Hi I wanted to try the app, while registering in the app I have agreed to pay and continue with 7 days free trail but I didn’t want to complete my account and use another app. But the 9.99 usd was dedicated from my account and since I didn’t not complete my registration, i cannot sign in and stop the monthly payment and also can’t register again with same for number, what to do?

Dont use this app!

This app is the ABSOLUTE WORST for a business line! Constantly has problems, and is bad for business! Ive had this app for 3 months & have had to call for assitance FOUR times since. This thing is bad news.
