Keeps Shutting Down

iPhoneGee

I updated the app today June 27 and now all of a sudden it shuts down after clicking on a video to watch. Now what?

Love & Bugs!!

hey!specialmonksmarts

Can’t even see all my saved classes...

Crashes every time the app is minimized

After the app crashes, I must sign back in and navigate to the video I was watching to resume the class.

Signed up for the 2 month trial, thought I would get an email about the payment a day before, then all of a sudden. I get a notification for $99 in New York. I thought someone got a hold of my card info but nope. It was this app. Im sad and won’t recommend this software to anyone. There goes my hard earned money.

Great app but...

Love the service and classes you can find on skillshare. I would like to stream to Apple TV without having to share my phone or macbook’s whole screen. Also would be nice if we could to stream through to Chromecast.

I really wanted to like it but it’s a waste of money

I really really wanted to like this program, but it’s been a waste of money all in all. If you’re looking for tips on photography or a drawing/graphic arts program there are some ok courses...anything involving business or marketing and the like, you’re pretty much paying for someone to pitch you their private pyramid scam of improving your business on their website and then they just talk about the topic at a really elementary level for and hour or two. You can get better info on most topics from a free YouTube account to be honest. Pretty disappointed all in all, paid for a year subscription and I haven’t really been able to use it.

Good learning but.....

I really enjoy this app but I’m seriously sick of getting logged out every time I go to check other apps on my phone I had a 6s plus and upgraded to 8s plus and it’s still a problem. I find this to be very frustrating that I have to go through Facebook every time I tried to use it. Please fix thank you!

Beware. I paid over $100 and got nothing. Don’t spend money on this thing.

Albert?

I earned free months inviting people that I never got because they kept charging me $15 a month. Then I inexplicably got charged for a $99 membership, which I decided would be fine but for some reason was being charged $15 a month, still. So that’s $15 a month plus a $99 annual for one membership. When I complained. THE SKILLSHARE SUPPORT INSTRUCTED ME TO UNENROLL because they somehow enrolled me twice and said that would fix it so that I would only be enrolled once. I then lost both membership accesses. Lol. So now I have this membership I overpaid for that no one will let me access. They also wouldn’t give me a refund but told me they’d give me SIX months instead. Support gave me three different people to deal with this issue and one was unhelpful, the other was abrasive and unhelpful, and the next was dismissive and unhelpful. Of course via email because there is no number. I was a longtime member for free, and then tried to pay as soon as I could afford it. After that I did a monthly membership a long time. This last experience has disgusted me to know end because it has disenchanted me with a service I once loved. And I’m still minus good money I spent. That’s trash. Great app. Just know that if you do have issues you will get trash help, which is unacceptable. And you’ll know this issue is still unresolved because if I received a modicum of sincere help this wouldn’t even still be up.

Good to Great Content, Interface Has *Problems*

I feel the other reviews have covered the ups and downs of Skillshare’s iOS app pretty well. What I wanted to provide some feedback on, since I can’t on the device itself, is the related Skillshare Apple TV app. I’m aware that this might not be top priority for the development team, or most users, but it’s high on my intended uses for the subscription. So I hope this can serve as both a warning for other potential users and a message to the higher-ups at the company that these issues might be worth reallocating some resources to resolve. As of today there are some big, big user interface issues with the tvOS version of the app. The first thing I noticed is that the category icons on the front page simply don’t load, the buttons are functional but there’s no indication (be it an image on the button or a label underneath it) what is what until the user has already selected a category. When browsing, video titles center under the video icons but they don’t scroll, fade out, or truncate themselves in any way. This leads to overlapping text pretty much throughout the Browse section of the app, making it difficult to read any title more than a couple of words long. Most importantly the app lacks any kind of search functionality whatsoever. Courses can be added through categories but there isn’t a field for text input at all. Furthermore, if the user adds a course through the mobile or web apps (which both have functional search capabilities) the only apparent way to get the list to refresh with the new additions is by double-clicking the “TV” button on the remote and swiping up to close the app completely then re-opening, a practice usually saved for the occasional crash. In its current state the tvOS app feels very unfinished. The content seems to be there and I’m a huge fan of the people who spend their time making videos to educate others getting paid to do so without contending with the wild and ever-changing standards of popular free video sharing sites. Right now though? The app needs a little more time in the oven, it’s just not quite baked.

Supreme disappointment

I signed in and quickly found that none of the classes where of interest to me, and while that can be forgiven, it was when I found courses I was interested in that my problems truly began. An introductory French course boasted over two hours of content. After watching the introductory videos which are both of poor audio/visual quality, I searched for the next video only to find that it was no where in the app. Over two hours were advertised, less than ten minutes were available. I have a premium trial, and if the point of that trial is to show all the interesting things I can learn here than it is a supreme failure. You can find better videos on YouTube for free, now I just need to figure out how to cancel my account before the app bills me $100 for it’s useless service.
