Not cool

Ok why is it that whenever I try and apply for another job that it gives me a freaking error message every time. Like come on I need this money. Fix your fricking app this is ridiculous.

A headache

Monroe3333

I can never “fetch” my location or the area i need. This app times out so much it’s frustrating and when you go on the desktop form, it’s super slow or always down for maintenance... care.com is so much better.

Great service - awful app

cLineLine

I really appreciate the Sittercity service and website. The app is awful - I can’t figure out why I have to login every time I open the app. If my bank can make an app that allows me to login with my phone’s embedded biometrics, why does a baby sitter app need more security?

Poor design throughout

Me@@@

This app is frustrating to use (unlike the care.com app). When I go I open the sittercity app and click the messages button to see if any caregivers have messaged me, the app automatically logs me out. Clicking the “remember me” box when signing in does nothing — I have to type my username and password in every single time I use the app, which adds an unnecessary layer of annoyance. If this is for security reasons, at least add an option to use Touch ID or Face ID to login more easily. (Although the care.com app — heck, even my email apps — don’t log me out every time I open them, so I would recommend just making your “remember me” button actually work.) Also, the button i used often on the website (“dismiss application”) is unavailable in the app. That means that if I get a message from a caregiver and I know I don’t want to hire them, I would have to type a rejection message myself every time in the app (unlike the care.com app which has a button “say not thanks” that automatically writes and sends a polite rejection letter). If I did press “dismiss” using the Sittercity.com website instead of the app, the fact that a particular application was dismissed is not visible in the app, where it appears that the application has not yet been dismissed. Also, although a minor issue, the “see profile” button is hiding behind ellipses (...) on the upper right corner of the app, which is not intuitive and then makes it a two step process (first click ..., then click see profile), unlike the care.com app where you can just click once on the applicant’s photo in the message to get to their profile page. Finally, the caregiver search in the app is significantly less detailed and powerful than the website — for instance, there is no filter in the app to search only for part-time caregivers or only for caregivers wanting a long-term position. That basically means that you have to search through hundreds of extra unnecessary bios in the app than you would have had to in the website because the app doesn’t let you use most of the filters available on the website. It’s not to say the Sittercity app is entirely unusable, but it either adds extra annoyances (e.g., during login, when trying to view profiles through messages) or makes certain actions impossible (e.g., makes caregiver searches much less efficient in the app compared to the website due to fewer filter options, makes it impossible to dismiss applications and view dismissed status in the app). It’s a very pretty app (the colors and font are nice), but unfortunately it’s functionality appears to be designed fairly poorly in nearly every section of the app.

Weird

Barley the wheat

you can’t really do anything with this app unless you pay for the premium.. I mean unless you just want to make job posting ‘s with out being able to reply to said job postings.

Need to see photos as sitter

KaiiDeniese

-I would like to be able to see the photos of the parents of whom I am applying and willing to work for. -Include Flag button or Save jobs -There are also sitters are posting on jobs page. Makes it difficult when you’re looking for a job but someone is only advertising THEIR services. **These will help with the maneuverability of app, sometimes I still use mobile site so that I can see photos, report scam listings or bookmark a job.

Horrible

bmbryan

I guess there are a ton of bugs in the app because it constantly logs me out and then won’t log me in again despite changing my password and confirming the email address online. How come it’ll log in with the exact same info on the official site, but not the app? Doesn’t make sense. Going back to care.com if this isn’t fixed soon. No point in using the app if I can’t even log in.

No use to use this app .

Snipchip

The parents are so unprofessional , they don’t respond for weeks even months , the day they need to hire someone is not accurate , if your looking to find real work use a different app . Sitter city is no help to looking for work .

Horrible for pet sitters

Secarter

Do not waste your $ if you’re looking for a pet sitter. May be better for childcare, but for pet care I found that you do not get timely responses and the quality of responses is poor. Wasted $35.
