Many Years With Sideline

Hott_Rayne

As stated in the title, I’ve been using Sideline for many many years for my business. I do love the basic features of the app, but it needs a serious overhaul. My squabbles are: many of my texts (I’m guessing it’s length related) come out as random symbols to some recipients, the interface has become seriously laggy, there’s no dark mode, and some additional features would be nice. The core issues I have with the app are speed and interface issues. Both could be considered minor, but all these problems have been persistent for a very very long time with no improvement or changes. Would be great to see this awesome app developed more thoroughly.

Very good

Gamemaster147

I have been using the app for several months. The $10 per month cost seems reasonable for all that it includes. I have never had any missed or dropped calls. The texting works very well also. The one complaint I have is that the caller ID does not come up with the persons name or number. It just says incoming Sideline call.I hope the developers can work on this and get it to function properly. PS. I received a response that the problem is with iOS 14.4. However, I now have iOS 15 and the problem persists

App used to work great

nokki gio

App used to work great when it was free. I used the number for my business line so when they started charging I was stuck with it since that’s the number All my customers have. Now the last couple weeks the app is glitchy and I can’t get it to open half the time. I can’t respond to my texts since I can’t open them and I am losing money because of this. If it’s not fixed in the next few days I’m gonna have to cancel

Significant business drawbacks

The app works reasonably well but there is actually a huge business drawback. There is no way to log in to the web and print out a verifiable call log. If you are ever called upon to prove a record of communications, you are out of luck. For example, if you are involved in a lawsuit, you can’t adequately prove you communicated with a client and when you did. I recently had to cancel a contract for cause when a client would not take my calls. The client insisted I never made any calls to them. This might not matter to most people, but if it ever does, you will be up the creek. Until this service provides web downloadable phone logs (and maintains them for a reasonable period of time) it can’t be relied on fully.

App is wonderful

The only problem is that the new update made the app super slow and hasn’t work the same since.

Not working

Broker Williams

Why is my Sideline not opening up. I use it for business and I can’t get into the app.

Can’t make a personalized voice mail message

Theodore Logan Esquire

The app works great except for the fact that every time I try to make a personalized voicemail it plays back as a harsh loud static.

Unable to receive text messages!

Joel-Tampa

Everything looked fine until the second day with Sideline when I couldn’t couldn’t communicate my clients. But the worst part is that I was not notified with the problem and my clients thought I was not taking care of them. Embarrassing! Everyone knows how much business you loose when clients don’t receive an answer! Well, that’s the problem Pinger, Inc is having with Sideline and SmartLine with Godaddy. I am moving away from all this to a reliable carrier. Chao!

Wish I’d done more research

-1 star for call quality, especially at the beginning of a call -1 star for losing all (years’ worth) of my texts and voicemails -1 star for various annoyances and shortfalls, such as mixing Sideline contacts in with my phone’s contact list instead of having its own, randomly logging me out, resetting my ring tone and message tone to the worst possible (same as phone) each time I get logged out -1 star for locking me out of my texts and voicemails after I’d canceled my subscription. I’d used this app for business, and my texts and voicemails had information my business needed. The first time I lost all my texts/voicemails was after I’d gotten logged out/had to log back in. But at least I had all the texts and voicemails created after that logout day, right? Wrong. When I canceled my subscription it locked me out of that content.
