Requires your cell number

Sandy Campbell

I refuse to give my cell number to a gas company. Their TOS allows them to use it and sell it. So I am deleting this app.

Terrible experience

Mitchfc17

This app ranks pretty high on my list of worst apps I’ve used. The 3 different account you have to have (shell, citi bank, and fuel rewards) don’t work well together and I am always having to log back in to something. I also have gotten 4 different error codes and gone through a chain of support calls where no one knows whats going on. Was it all worth it for a few extra cents off gas with mobile payments? No.

Gas prices

Rodericktheii

Why is it so hard to bring up the gas prices? I hate going to a expensive gas station when I know theres a cheaper one around the corner.

Terrible

verakot

Impossible to login, looks like it loops asking UID and PW. Tried multiple times with no success. Unable to login still ?‍♂️

This app has been OK

Brianempyre

This app has been ok but after recent update the app doesn’t show my rewards balance there is just a dash where the cents per gallon should be it just doesn’t seem to load all the information correctly since recent update

Better integration

The fuel rewards and shell app should be one. I have my accounts all linked up but when I pay it’s regular price when it should have my fuel rewards discount added. I have payed full price several times when I should have at least gotten my 5 cents off per gallon. The prices for all the stations should be in the app. That should be relatively simple since several 3rd party apps show the prices.

Time is money — slow experience

Edison.Giang

The app loads slow opening up, the shell locator is a slow load process. Accessing Apple Pay feels slow, then typing the code. I’m using Verizon and have trouble getting strong LTE sometimes too at the pumps. $ Savings yes — slow... not worth it vs scanning a code or swiping a card. There’s so many extra steps.

Useless for me

Dizzle McShizzle

I installed the app and added Apple Pay. Both times I tried to use it, it took over a minute to find the station I was at. It looked like it authorized my pump and when I started pumping it shut off. The screen said to return the handle and when I did, it still just sat there saying to return the handle to the pump. Both times I had to go into the store to have them manually cancel the transaction. After attempt 2, I’ve deleted the app. The Exxon app works fine so I guess they’ll get the majority of my business. I’m bummed because the Shell station is closer, but I don’t have time to troubleshoot their stupid app on my way to work.

Very slow

In today’s world of hurry-up, this app requires a monumental amount of patience. It takes a long time to do everything, from recognizing that the user is actually parked at a Shell station to confirming the payment method. The screen will go dim with nothing but a spinning wheel for perhaps 45 seconds while confirming these events. On top of that, availability seems to be hit or miss, as it will randomly not allow any purchases to be made. Sorry Shell, you missed out on me filling up both of my vehicles yesterday due to the faulty app.

Watch out! No Zero Liability Fraud Protection !!

This app worked fine with non-Shell branded cards, that had Zero Liability Fraud Protection. Then Shell forced everyone to use Shell branded cards. Shell branded card are actually just Citibank Master Cards. Citibank/Citi-mortgage is a horrible business entity to do business with. I have decades of experience avoiding any business with Citi. I only used the Shell branded Citicard MasterCard with the Shell app and this Mastercard never left my house. Here is what I received from Shell December 17, 2019: “Based on our review, we have determined that you are responsible for the charges in question.” Shell Security Operations. Wow! No zero fraud liability protection ! Shell could have applied any rogue purchases to my Shell branded Citibank card. Thank God I closed this Shell branded Citibank Master Card account with a zero balance. I had also received blocks on this Shell branded Citibank card 9 out of 10 times that I tried to use this Shell app. You end up wasting your lifetime on multiple calls talking with Citibank trying to explain that it is you trying to use the Shell app.
