This app is terrible and is the worst thing about my new 2018 Corolla. Usually it cannot connect, forcing me to completely re-pair my phone. But, guess what, it’s not worth the time or frustration. There is no visual map, which is amazingly bad. I would start from a parking lot and it simply says to turn on whatever street. Where’s the street? The routes are bad. They take you down random streets that are certainly far from the best route. I don’t use it anymore, I hate it. Toyota and Lexus should really be embarrassed of this pile of junk in this day and age. I have a 2017 Honda Civic also and the infotainment in the Honda blows Toyota / Lexus away hands down no competition. Run away if you still can.

I bought 2018 Camry SE, Car is good but Scout GPS is worst. More precisely I would say this is worst GPS ever made.

I have been using Scout GPS since getting my Lexus NX 2018 and iPhone X. Yes the app initially had connectivity issues, but it has gotten a lot better, almost none existent. The needs more integration to make it feel reliable as evidenced by other GPS apps. Some lacking features are standardized in other apps. Wishlist **better notification of rerouting when anticipating traffic (perhaps announcing it) **better traffic recognition (the green line appears when in reality traffic is at a standstill... DC DMV traffic is no joke) **Better lane assistance **speed limit, speedometer **weather

Too Cumbersome to use

I tried to (use and) like this app while driving my 2018 Camry but it just doesn’t work well. I’ve resorted back to just using Apple Maps on my iPhone. I recently rented a car that had Apple Car Play and found the vehicle integration to be fantastic. When my lease is up, I will make sure my next car has Car Play.

I had this app before on a android phone worked awesome ,but now I have a Apple phone it’s uggggg really sends me to tolls when I have tolls turn off in settings doesn’t give good directions I can be at the address I’m looking for retype it in scout it tell me I’m miles away from the address I’m seeking when I’m at that address.

I rented a RAV4 that needed this app for navigation. The biggest problem is that the app disconnects from the car within the first 30 minutes of navigation. It can’t reestablish the connection other than to reset the phone and car head unit. This is an issue when driving. When it is working, the display on the car and the instructions for the navigation or rather poor. I’m lucky because this was a rental car. If I had bought a Toyota and ended up with this, I would be really annoyed.

The idea that there are 3 different types of option of routes you can choose before you hit start your trip is a relief. Best App.

I love my 2018 Camry. But this is very disappointing. I end up using my iPhone maps. Scout never works. I got it to work once but when I got a phone call it wouldn’t work at the same time. Frustrating. I hope it improves over time.

Tried working with Toyota to fix the multiple problems with the navigation system. The end result is that my local Toyota Service Manager told me that “....it’s a terrible navigation system and there’s nothing that I can do to make it better.” I also had several conversations with the Toyota Service Help Line, they said, “We know there’s a problem with the Navigation System, but we don’t have any information about an upgrade or recall.” So, bottom line is that everyone knows that it doesn’t work and Toyota doesn’t intend to do anything about it. I’ve made it my mission to persuade everyone that I can to NOT buy from Toyota.
