Do Not Waste Your Time

Yemina Israel

I just joined maybe a month ago and found out new accounts cannot submit rebates for anything you buy at CVS or Walgreens. How misleading. I kept the app to get a candy rebate from Kroger and it took almost 2 weeks to get the rebate. Once I get to $20 and withdraw my earnings, I am deleting this app for good. I wish I would have read the other reviews before I downloaded this.

App is a waste of time

I have tried repeatedly to submit receipts for rebate and this system is way too much work. I have been told that I can’t get the rebate because I unlocked it after the purchase, which I had not done, that I couldn’t get the healthy reward because the purchase wasn’t during the correct time period, which it was, and now that my receipt isn’t clear, which it is. I’m not gonna keep having to take my time to contact them on their mistake for a $1 rebate. I’d much rather use Ibotta or check 51 since their apps actually work as advertised.

Can’t Link Loyalty Cards

B_Tab82

I have written them several times for help linking my cards so I can get the rebates and you get copy and pasted info that does not help and I continued to reask and eventually on email 3 or 4 they say linking loyalty cards isn’t available. I said when will it be and there was no answer. It’s a worthless app.

The worst app ever

Trying to redeem a rebate but keep rejecting without any reason. Such a cheap app!!! Don’t bother. There are much better rebate apps like Ibotta and fetch

Multi buy offers

CTRULIFFSON

I have used saving star for years. Recently the multi buy for rewards are not being added. Example is the Allegra. Spend $75 and get $15. I have purchased two and neither have been added. I waited a few more shopping trips and repeatedly have not had my earnings added to my account. After several years of using this app I can now say it’s not worth the hassle. Under new management?

Don’t plan on earning rewards quickly

RavenCheyenne

I’ve been a member of this app since May 2019 and have, just today, made it to $9.00 of the $20.00 minimum cash out. At this rate, it’ll take me another year to reach the minimum amount. It’s gotten even worse since this app and Checkout 51 have partnered so if you select a rebate on Checkout 51 that is also available on this app, it becomes unavailable on this app. It goes the other way too, so if you select a rebate on Savings Star that is also available on Checkout 51, you lose the option to redeem it on Checkout 51. They really should just merge and get it over with because neither one are that good individually, so perhaps they’d be better if they merged. Another thing is that this app just doesn’t offer many rebates at all. There just isn’t a good selection from the start so it’s very hard to find rebates to redeem anyways. I think right now I might have 25 or so offers compared to 100s on other apps. Also, with this app, if you forget to add a rebate, or buy extra stuff from the store and realize there’s a rebate the next day, they won’t give you credit because you didn’t select it before the date of purchase. It’s rare that I get rebates that I can actually use on this app so when they deny my credit because I shopped at night around 9pm or something and added the rebate the next morning when I had time to enter my receipt into all my apps, it’s pretty shady. There are a couple apps like that and they all have one thing in common with me- they are the least used apps for rebates/points and will likely all end up shutting down due to such difficulty, and stringent rules, using them. All the good ones, ibotta, Coinout, Fetch etc. all allow you to use your receipts within one week. I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone but I haven’t had any problems linking cards since I’ve never chosen to do so, and I’ve never had any issue with my receipts or product codes scanning. I guess if you have two years to wait for a cash out, then check it out. Otherwise I recommend moving along to a much better app.

Very few new rebates

This used to be better. Now there are rebates my stores don’t even carry, lots of health products, too expensive. Customer service is always good. Please go back to widely used grocery products!

Not a consumer friendly company

NC man 1967

Nothing, but problems trying to get SavingStar to pay. They say customers cannot ‘cash out’ til you reach $20.00. They just partnered with Coupons.com who sends out money via PayPal each time you submit a receipt. SavingStar is using their customers to hold on to their money as long as possible, so they can gain interest on your money while you wait to reach $20.00 with only 20 or so offers to choose from to accumulate money. Use Ibotta. They don’t put their customers through hell to get your money.

Problem with store link cards

Loganaka

Store link cards never work wish all stores would go back to scanning in receipts

Takes Your Money!

time75

Rebate offers are few and the ones they have are for things that most people don’t use. If it’s nothing I use, I’m not going to buy just to be buying. When your account becomes “inactive”, they start taking money out! I feel this is unfair as it’s money I have earned. If it is that important to SavingStar, they can keep drawing money from my account until there is a zero balance. Other coupon apps do not take my money, so I’ll just use them.
