Behead a baddy with a mere swipe of your finger!

Lord Gek

This latest update fixes the Dojo score tracking (crucial to me as it's my favorite part of the game)! The iPhone version of this game was already great but now on the big screen it is much easier to pull off amazing maneuvers. I freely admit that I'm often just swiping haphazardly without being sure I even pulled off the move I was attempting. However, when these crazy swipes result in a swing that beheads two opponents in front of me simultaneously, all is good!

So pretty

Great game. Excellent back story. Control is a little awkward though. It takes some effort to do a combo. Overall, it's a fun game.

Five Rings Revealed

Kondo Isamu

If ever there was a media form that embodies Miyamoto Musashi's life story and his principals of mortal combat, this simple computer game has achieved that and more. I have never thought a computer programmer would ever be able to understand, let alone graphically portray, the intricacies of bushido, life, and death, from the perspective of a samurai. This game is truly an accurate synergy of history, art, and science. I thank the developers for getting to the essence of the Five Rings and the ronin. A book may have thousands of words. A single picture may worth a thousand words. However, this simple interactive game truly captures The Soul of the Samurai and The Art of War. Having said that, it would be nice to be able to change the game play perspective to first person, or even just to have the ability to move perspective up close to the actor temporarily, because we lose sight of the actor during play sometimes due to set pieces obstructing our line of sight. Thank you.

This app looks gorgeous. It is every bit as attractive as the App Store screenshots lead you to believe. The artistic styling is very nice to look at. And the comic book presentation of the story line is sweet. But I honestly found the gameplay dull and repetitive. Just a lot of finger swiping on the screen in hopes that it actually translates into a hit or a combo. After playing it for :05 minutes, I quit in the middle of a game and deleted the app off of my iPad. I wish I had downloaded a Lite version of the app, because I would have saved my money.

Best game on Ipad hands down

Dada76

This is the best game on iPad. The price is very reasonable and playability and production quality is excellent. Stop paying 12.99 to EA sports for subpar games and support this developer so they can make even better games. One request, we need more levels...keep it up. I am a happy iPad owner

Loved it

Great game to pick up and play when you get a chance. The comic book style is dope!

Worth the 5 bucks!

Nuugame

Okay so I usually don't write reviews but I felt like I had to for this game. It's instant gratification. You start and in five minutes, you'll become a Samurai! The graphics are great and the AI progression is noticeable as you progress into the game. It's a little short but the Dojo modes allow you to test your combo skills around a pack of enemies. My only advice is that you try the free one for the iphone first then make up your mind about the HD version for the iPad.

Partial slow motion

So the game is shiny and I like the art style. But i have a sad story about it. I'm cruising through the levels and I earn a few combos the longest ones end with nifty matrix style slow down finishers. Which at first I love until my enemies get stronger and it takes more than one combo to hit them and there's more than one enemy and here's why. Only you and the opponents that will be hit by your attack enter slow motion. So while you are frozen in bullet time with your intended victim his friends are moving at full speed slashing you to death. Worse your victim exits bullet time first so if the combo doesn't kill him while you are still frozen he's slicing and dicing you. Until this flaw is fixed I would recommend avoiding this game. After that I'd give this game four stars.

I like slicing people

Overall it's not a bad game. Like any other game I can wish for this and wish for that. The controls take a little getting used to but once you get the timing down it becomes a lot more fun. Now time for my I wishes... 1.longer story line let's say with enemies on horses and some shooting arrows or something like that (basically longer story and variable fighting weapons that the enemies carry) 2.which is simple make sure that when I play dojo the game doesn't freeze. Now normally just because of that issue I would give you only 1 star because in honesty you sold me a game that doesn't work. But I like this game and I am wishing u guys fix at the very least that issue so I can give more stars. Sorry guys almost forgot to rerate you :) love the fix even seems like u tightened up controls a bit and made the ai a little tougher... Please keep up the good work.

Great looking and pure fun

This game looks great, from the environment, effects, and also the storytelling via comic stripes. It really sets the tone right and you'll really feel like living back in the 16th century Japan. Combos take some time to get used to and the game can add more RPG elements to it to fight the repetitiveness. But if you are just looking for a pure hack and slash game with gorgeous graphics, this is for you.
