Pretty great!

I love Safeway delivery! There are definitely some inconsistencies, which will hopefully get better over time, but nothing beats not have to take all three of my kids into the grocery store. The things they excel at are arriving on time and providing quality products. The only thing that I find frustrating from time to time is that they are sometimes out of items I order or products I’ve purchased in the past are no longer available. Hopefully that will improve!

There are caveats: they are often out of stock on one or two items per order. Sometimes they make substitutions that don't work. The recent changes in the app have issues. But the convenience of delivery is still worth it for me. Delivery people and customer service have all been very nice and helpful.

Easy to use & the staff does a great job of picking great produce, which was my biggest concern. So easy & great to pick up on your way home.
Search engine and order of entry

Today there is a problem with the search engine. On several items such as potatoes, chicken, celery, and olives just to list a few it would come back no item found. I checked my spelling. If I entered it a number of times it eventually found the item. Very frustrating. Why not have a field for quantity and notes on the item page? There is no logic to having to update the quantity or only being able to enter notes at review of order. That’s not how shoppers think. I love the service but I am not fond of the app. There are many things you could do to make it an enjoyable experience.

I load up my cart throughout the week, it’s so easy! Choose a time and it comes to my door! Best thing is, I never forget anything cause it’s in my cart and I never splurge and buy things I don’t need, like I do in the actual store. Best invention ever for a working parent. One additional thing I don’t need to worry about. Now I get to go home to my family or have time to go to the gym instead. :)))
The Search Feature Does Not Work At All!

The previous Safeway app worked so much better! This search app does not work at all. I typed in “Coke” and NOTHING came up. I typed in Cauliflower Pizza = nothing. I typed in various products with their brand name and it does not work at all. Also, no point to this if you can’t buy various products for free delivery!

I like the convenience of online shopping with Safeway, but too frequently items are not delivered and marked as unavailable or out of stock. It’s unlikely that a grocery store chain is out of basic items. It just seems they have one limited resource they use for online shopping. I don’t see much happening in the way of customer service to complete orders. This has been my experience using them for the last two years.
