Doesn't Work

Brock Fisher

I own a brand new RTI system. This app does not work with it. There are no instructions in the App Store or the RTI website. Don't bother with it.

The best

This is the best home automation app. It needs to be professionally installed.

This app requires professional install

This app can only be configured by an authorized rti dealer. This app must also be accompanied by an rti panel license in order for it to work. Secondly the app gives you a demo layout, which may or may not look like the final product once your rti panel has been designed and programed into your system. It also requires the use of an rti rp4 or xp processor. This app works great! iOS 8 has bugs with this app

No better smart home app available. Period.

I am a Platinum RTI dealer as well as a certified programmer. This app will not function without a compatible RTI home control processor that has been programmed to allow control from mobile devices. This will require an authorized RTI dealer. Visit RTI online and select Dealer Locator to find a certified installer near you. First of all, from reading through the reviews it appears that all the negative comments actually have very little to do with the app itself and more to do with the interface design or physical installation which falls on the company which sold these folks their systems. This interface can be customized to look however you want. The template pictured here is a basic stock template and is not the only option. This app is 100% customizable and is absolutely rock solid when properly configured and installed by a legitimate RTI professional. Thanks RTI for an awesome product!

Consider other options

I was talked into "upgrading" to the RTI system and app when my under system was deemed unserviceable. The RTI system has been terribly unreliable. Nine times out of 10, when I want to use the system via the app, the system does not work. The app runs, but I am unable to select a zone. To get it to work requires resetting all of the components of the system and restarting the iPad. Just killing the app won't complete the reset. Inevitably, when I have guests and want the system to just work, I will have to try to reset it, taking several minutes. Then I have to field questions about how much I spent for a system that doesn't work reliably. Consider other options if you want a system that will work when you need it. And, yes, the system and app were professionally installed.

Horrible system

crix

What a piece of poop... This system must be "professionally" installed and maintained... Total rip off... And the license is about $300 per controller, which means if you want it on multiple iPads or iPhones, get prepared to shell out hundreds of dollars... And of course, you have to have an installer come out in person to "activate" it

Rti

I have owned this app for a few years it cost a lot of money like others have said on here . If you have problems you have to call a service tech out to program it or add to it . Rti will not help you at all !!!! even though you paid 300.00 for the license and you are the customer. they want you to call out a service tech and you are at their mercy when this goes down you can't control anything if I had it to do over again I would have 10 different remotes then have to deal with this nightmare .I would not recommend any of these programs like Rti or any others unless you have control to program it yourself not worth the headache .

Seriously RTI! No update in a year??

RTI needs to get their you know what together. Haven't seen an update an over a year.

Great App! - Now, make an Apple Watch Companion

loraandnick

I've had the RTI system for 5 months now, and it continues to work great. My professional installer setup an iPad Mini, and an iPhone 6, specially configured the layout and buttons, and it all works great! Now, I'm ready for RTI to make an Apple Watch companion. I'd love to be able to do a few simple functions, like volume control and channel up/down, from my Apple Watch. I know, really lazy, but would be really cool to show your friends. There are other home automation apps with Apple Watch compatibility, and I'm sure RTI will do the same to stay at the top of their game.

Works great

Make sure you ditch the router supplied to you by your isp and get something else that supports dyn dns etc via web gui. Also make sure you get a RTI authorized integrator to do the programming. Nothing wrong with this app. Just bad programming.
