Pricing is deceiving

Cea22

I wanted someone for a “drop in visit”. The prices are listed as something like “$15 per visit” , so you would think if you’re having someone come twice a week it’s $30 , right? Nope. AFTER you submit the request then it adds the price of additional dogs, EVEN if you took the time to look for a sitter that does not list an extra charge for additional dogs. So even though it SAYS 15 per visit, since I have two dogs it’s really 30 per visit. Misleading.

Great App

Rover has allowed me to make an additional income at my leisure as well as look for great dog sitters.

I’ve been a Sitter for Five years

It’s changed my life. I m ade $75,000 in 2019 and since moving to Austin Texas I’ll break $100,000 in 2020 Rover has stood by me when the inevitable dog bite, older dog dying during a booking, and others various negative experiences occurred. The 24/7 telephone support is great I’m a full time boarding and daycare sitter and thus has replaced my corporate job I love Rover!!

Horrible service and unreliable care

Was guaranteed a dog walker and had 4 cancellations. Unreliable and not a good experience at all. Do not depend on rover walkers to actually take care of your animal. Use care.com or wag

Makes my job harder than it needs to be

As a sitter, the app is not user friendly. I am constantly having to restart the app or my entire phone just to get my home tab to properly display the list of pets I’m watching that day. Otherwise it’ll just show the list from the previous day. If I’m not connected to WiFi, then it’ll usually take all day to send a rover card, even if I go back onto WiFi. The app takes a really long time to load sometimes, even on WiFi. And sometimes when I end a drop in, a duplicate visit will start, and I can’t stop it obviously without adding a picture, so the owner is essentially getting two rover cards for the same visit. I am at least receiving my payments in a timely manner, although I do know that some sitters have issues with getting paid. Rover is constantly adding new features to their site/app, which I like, but it seems to just add more bugs to the speedy never ending list of bugs this app causes. I feel like we should have a much more streamlined app if they’re going to take 20% of our earnings.

A MUST HAVE APP FOR ALL DOG OWNERS

As a new dog owner, I always felt like I couldn’t leave my dog / didn’t know who to trust and go to. When I had to travel for work and family, Rover was there for me and I found a great sitter for my pup. This app has changed my life and made me feel like I could get help from people I trusted. I will definitely be using it in the future and recommend it to all my dog owner friends.

App needs more features matching website

CC App Fan

Rover is great for its main purpose. The service is cool. The app needs some enhancements to include features on the website. Customers need to be able to see sitter availability within the app when searching by sitter or viewing the sitters profile. Additionally, for requests that are declined, the customer needs the ability to immediately close the request and get it out of the pending status. Leaving it there until it times out just clogs the request box which can be confusing when you have multiple requests at the same time with sitters.

Do not care about sitter safety at all

Rvs Family

This company does not care about the safety of their sitters. I was bitten during a stay, hosting an aggressive dog, and was only paid for part of the stay — the owners were refunded their cancellation fees despite them being the ones cancelling the stay and the transportation fees were also waived (after I drove their dog 45 minutes home and myself 45 minutes back). However, my medical bills were fully my responsibility and no concern at all for my deep bite from this aggressive dog was shown by support. And yes — this monster dog is still allowed on the site, so watch out for who you petsit for. Avoid “Piggy” at all costs if you value your hands. WORST dogsitting company around. Try Wag if you want something worth your time. After contacting support again, I can reiterate that they were not helpful in the least bit.

Calendar/Home

I really enjoy the app. It makes communication with clients really easy. The only change I would like to see if that when I go “home” and it lists who is staying with me, I would love to be able to swipe left and see the following days listed in the same format. The calendar also doesn’t offer that view format, so either of those locations would be great to offer a quick visual. And also being able to edit with an arrival or departure time would be handy.

Owners should be checked tol

barefoot weenie

I wish that the pet owners had to go through background checks and include pictures of themselves as well. Meeting with a new owner at my home or theirs makes me very nervous. I had given my home address to people only knowing their first name (last initial), having no idea what they look like, and knowing they have not been checked out. It makes me feel a bit unsafe.
