Review good app!

samlandTV

Really good app it lets you pick up what they are saying instead of just telling you what it is. 4/5 good app! Advice; if it’s not picking you up, your saying it wrong, or it’s on the wrong setting.

Learning New languages is always something I’ve wanted to do but I’ve never found the time to do it. Rosetta Stone makes it simple and easy and fun to learn new languages! I can’t wait to see how I’m going to use my new languages!

No option to give no stars. I hope you have an eidetic memory. This program moves to fast. Now I know I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I’m not the dullest crayon in the box either. As you “learn” you are never really given enough explanations as to how or why with this app. And then all of a sudden, you are expected to have a full blown conversation. I have to yell at my phone for it to pick up what I’m saying. It’s something to do with the app. I know this because I have no issues with other app’s I am using that require the same thing. There are much better apps to learn languages out there. One is even free. Keep scrolling.

Be careful and READ all FINE PRINT.

I’m trying to learn Russian. One of the harder languages for English learners. There is no translation. When I reached out to customer support, they emailed me to tell me it says in the fine print that there is no translation for this and one other language. I’m on month 4 of trying to learn my SECOND WEEK. Extremely frustrating. I’ve paid for a lifetime membership. Ha being a very very difficult time. I wouldn’t waste your money if you want to learn Russian.

Great app if you know how to use it.

Always repeat the everything you hear whether it’s a speaking activity or not.

Could be so much better

For a company who brags about being here for 25 years the website is extremely narrow with no limited options. There is no dictionary, app inside so you can’t look up a word or phrase on your own. It seems like a pretty easy fix but nowhere in site. There should be a flash card option to shoot out words to see if you know them. No games to make it fun. Other things a decent web designer could do in a few hours I’m sure. Bare bones. That being said I am using it and I am taking notes and seeing patterns on my own that I’m learning from. I like the picture method of learning and building vocabulary but there are simple rules that can be taught before ever jumping in to make it easier like pronunciations of letters and different rules. I gave it a four to be generous but if I had paid and it was not a Christmas gift I would be writing an email with a list of suggestions by now. Anyway, good but could be great so easily. Too bad.

Pretty good

While I do feel like I’m learning a lot there are a few problems holding it back. 1. Because of the interface on my phone when I’m trying to push the play button to hear what something says (I can’t read Japanese characters) it selects the answer instead of reading and I get it wrong, needs bigger play button. 2. If I say exactly what I’m supposed to the answer it will be wrong and then right when I say the exact same thing, mic needs work. 3. While I think immersion is a great way to learn a language, sometimes it could make it a little more clear what the picture is trying to illustrate. Sometimes I have to google what a word means when I just can’t figure out what the difference is or what a pictures trying to illustrate.

Best of its kind!

I’ve tried out many language learning programs/apps; nothing ever comes close to Rosetta Stone. The program is designed in a way that gets you to learn the language as if it’s your first so you are fully immersed and actually THINK in the language being learned -not just translating in your head. You set your own pace. It’s rewarding and entertaining. I’ve never written a review for any product or service but this program deserves one. I love it that much!
