Riven for iPad is as large as an App can be. We’ve managed to optimize Riven from its original DVD size to a little under a 2 gigabytes. Please be patient - download times and syncing times can be longer.

Because of the way iOS devices install apps, you may need extra free space on your device to install Riven. Once it's installed you can use the extra space again.

Final puzzle does not work

Well, it is mostly excellent. There were several sounds throughout the game that would not play. This was a minor disappointment until I got to the part where you rescue Catherine. The gadget opens but does not play the audio code. I went to Prison Island anyway, just to guess at the code and found that the puzzle itself doesn't function. Sooo basically, it's impossible to finish the game without letting Catherine die. I really hope this gets fixed soon.

Deserves 5 stars, Lo-Res though

I give it 5 stars because it deserves it because of the classic nature of the game. iPad implementation is fine accept that the images are low res...this is a terrible tragedy since the big selling point of the original Riven was its magnificent graphics....which are clearly lacking here. I would gladly pay the price in money and memory for a high res version. The implementation of the companion iPad realMyst is SO BEAUTIFULLY DONE, that I was hoping the same for this Riven....but, sadly, low res pictures.

Can't and won't ever stop playing.

I really enjoy the Myst legacy due to its graphics, music, acting and most of all, its puzzles. Would like, if possible to also have the other three Myst games, Myst III: Exile, Myst IV: Revelations and Myst V: End Of Ages available as well as I've never IV or V and would love to as well as also being able to play Exile again.

Played this game with my kids and they were enthralled by it! After so many years, this game still holds up. I hope Cyan will port Myst V to iOS and Ubisoft will port Myst 3 and 4 to iOS too.

I loved playing this game way back when, but never finished. Now I have the chance. Or at least I thought I did. The game I downloaded on my iPad didn't play any sounds! For most games, not an issue. But you NEED to hear sounds to figure out the puzzles here. What do I do?

This is a classic adventure game. Don't expect quickie puzzles or HO scenes - you have to wander your way through beautiful scenes, take notes, be very observant and patient. It is like being in a foreign country without a map and no sparkles to guide you, thank goodness! The music is mostly quiet or non-existent so you can totally immerse yourself in the beautiful environments if you wear headphones. No problems running on my 32GB iPad 2 with the latest iOS 7.

I just got the game and it is the same as I remember when it first came out. I would love an update so that it would be like realmyst. By that I mean just hold my finger to walk and look around. I hated all the clicking and taping I had to do in the games. You guys need to make it like realmyst :)
