Words can hardly describe the nostalgic feeling I get from this game. This was my first videogame ever for a apple pc easily over twelve years ago. It is captivating, when I played I felt alone and isolated. It did it's job so well to remove you from the screen into the world. People say it's graphics are bad, yeah maybe they are a tad outdated. As a true fan I see past that to it's beauty. It is the modern age and if you want eye candy and an easy game, this isn't for you. Sure you can look up the answers to puzzles online, (I myself was tempted.)but you only cheat yourself. I will buy this game and raven wood once I get paid this week!

This is not a review of the whole game, just the lite. The full version is very good. The app says that it includes all of myst island, but that's not true. You should be able to beat the game without ever leaving, but this app stops you. I'm don't feel like buying the full version of a game I've player before
iPad version wanted

I was a huge fan of Myst and all of its sequels when they were out for the PC. I was very excited when I saw that it had been made available as an app, but after downloading the demo I have to say I am a bit disappointed. One of the best things about the original game was the beauty of its artwork. In order to accommodate the iPhone's smaller screen size, the graphics resolution suffered greatly on the iPad. I would be more than willing to pay for a version that made use of the iPad's larger screen size and graphics capabilities (maybe even the PC re-release version that replaced the series of still screens with 360 degree viewing). Until then, I just can't get past the poor graphics quality enough to spend money on the game (or Riven for that matter).

I just downloaded Myst on my iPod to see how it compares to the original version from the 90s. Unfortunately it is so very small and dark on my iPod that I cannot see enough detail in order to play it. This game would benefit greatly from the larger screen and the zoom feature of an iPad. (The iPhone screenshots on this page are larger than an actual iPod screen and show better detail.) Even though I played this game many years ago and loved it, it is much too small and dark for me to be able to play it now. What a disappointment. I hope that there are plans to make it for the iPad. If a version is made for the iPad, then I will gladly give it more stars.

Bad graphics bahh just look when this game has made and another thing a real gamer play a game by whats in it(gameplay,sound) graphics only made the game more beautiful in exchange of a LOT of space well I buy myst a looooooong time ago and I couldn't do anything I treavel to an age but I was stuck after it in this free version I try to find all books but I couldn't do the spaceship thing I play the piano but nothing appear PS:I found the others 3 without a problem

I played the original game when it came out. The only problem was that I could only play it at home. Now I can kill time when waiting and explore. I already finished it with no problems. Download does take some time. Everything was great. Graphics may be small, but look at the screen size you have, it is not a 50 inch plasma. Play was just like the original. Try the free version to get started, then get the pay version.

This is a great game that help you explore, and be able to learn things from puzzles. I have this for the pc and I also have the whole pack of myst exile.

Myst opened up the world of gaming for me and I would love to play it again on my iPad. Please consider an HD version. This game and Riven are both perfect candidates for iPad...

I love the game, and will give more later - but just waiting for all the old classics of the MYST, Riven, etc. series to come HD to iPad, then I'll upgrade from trial to buy & give more stars, but until the... I'm waiting...
