Search - search any place or stop you are interested in, get information about distance, ratings, and easily plan trip to there.
You can use this app to find bus schedules fairly easily, but the real time function does not work. If buses are running early, you will miss them using this app to plan your journey. The Ride On website real time tracker is accurate; not clear why those data are not used in this app.
Previous versions allowed you to save your favorite routes or stops. Why take that away?! Was there ANY User Acceptance Testing done? How hard is it to just duplicate the URL rideonreatime.com in a mobile friendly way. On that site at least you can search by route and/or stop number. The county needs to fire this developer and start from scratch.
I have to believe that whoever designed this app has never ridden a bus before. Ask people who ride the bus what they need and maybe you'll end up with a decent app. They redesigned the app maybe a year ago and took a decent app and made it horrible. Not a single redeeming feature. Why doubt you pay Metro to let your feed be a part of the vault superior BusETA web app?
Had an older version of this app that was inaccurate so downloaded the latest. What a mistake. Planning a trip is not as easy or intuitive. And Search couldn’t find the Germantown Transit Center — Ride On bus depot! What? Yeah... wish I left the old version alone. The Nerd Group needs to be fired.
I’ve been riding Ride On daily for several months. Not once during this time has this app correctly reported the location or arrival time for any bus. It’s a usability nightmare. You can’t easily find the line or stop that you want. Half the time, the app doesn’t respond to taps. It’s not worth the time needed to download it.
The worst ever app for public transport. Rarely will be a help. Is it the public transport in Montgomery County that socks or is this app?
The app has inaccurate “real” time information. It’s absurd that it doesn’t do its core functionality. I’d suggest +/- 10 mins for the time displayed.
This app initially seemed great as it does indicate nearby buses and routes, but it takes a long time to load and the route times can be way off—sometimes due to traffic and sometimes because the app seems to be still loading. It’s difficult to switch between routes also—I have had to restart the app to pick a different route. It’s helpful to have a general idea of the schedule and when the bus will arrive at a nearby stop, though.
