This app is absolute garbage now. It used to be a great resource for people to share their surgical experiences, either good or bad. Now it’s mostly reviews for plastic surgeons, and it’s almost impossible to filter those out from in-depth surgical journeys. Besides that, the app is disorganized and when you search for one treatment/procedure it shows other non-related procedures. Useless.

Conned

Really RealSelf? The plastic surgeon I used had all 5 star ratings. Well I used this surgeon based on his “glowing” reviews and now I am facing ove $50,000 in reconstructive surgery. I tried to post reviews about my experience with this “surgeon” but guess what? They were deleted time and time again. So I was “gagged” by RealSelf who has the audacity to claim that they are consumer driven. No, they are paid advertising for doctors; even those doctors who are dangerous. I’m going to start my own website RealSelf. I’m going to call it Botched Self. The consumers will be people who found their dangerous surgeons on RealSelf. You should be sanctioned for the harm you have caused

Helped me so much!

Helped me zero in on my surgeon! Was super helpful and informative.

Not user friendly

The whole concept is a great idea, to be able to communicate and see other woman’s surgery journey..but it is very hard to navigate. I think alot of reviews and experiences do not get acknowledged at all. I think their should be access to follow people, as well as a good format to make it easier to discover, and communicate

Doctor advertising

This website has nothing to do with consumers expressing their questions or concerns. This all about doctor advertising. If you post anything negative, your remarks are deleted. If you ask other doctors questions about previous work you have had, it’s censored and deleted. Not because of bad language or even mentioning a surgeons name. Do not trust these reviews, they are not real. If a doctor has all good reviews it’s more than likely their staff that is writing the reviews.

Hopeful want to be patient

Love seeing the results. I am 54 and wish I could see move on the day after the tummy tuck and the PAIN of it all. And why is the pain meds not helping. I have seen some recovering videos and the patient seems to be in so much pain. I would love some work on my stomach fat tissues and muscles but after observing the experience and I am getting turned off. It is very scary.

Super informative and appreciated!

I love this app because it’s real life people who are sharing their true experiences. This has been very helpful with doing my own personal research on deciding who I would like to get work done with as well as seeing real life outcomes from other women like me with similar before body types, for the procedure I am interested in learning more about before booking.

Could use upgrades

I really enjoy the idea of real people posting their real experiences with cosmetic surgery. However, the app isn’t really user friendly, doesn’t support HTML, hard to navigate. For example, reading a review, having to stop in the middle & upon returning its gone. Unless, I missed it, I’m not able to search site by “reviewer” to pick back up in their story.

So far so good

Getting started is scary and the app let's you navigate and research freely without worry about ads, interruptions, or privacy. The app itself could navigate a little smoother but all and all it's been a great help.
