RAISE is a photo community platform from Canon that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help find new ways to categorize and organize your photographs, learn from other photographers, and be inspired.
Any sweepstakes or contest made available to end users of the App are in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Apple.
I like the concept. I wish the app was less buggy though: 1- Under Recommended Challenges, I wish I didn’t have to scroll through the challenge from the beginning, after opening or submitting an image. 2- Under “Vote”, same as above. The app defaults to the first challenge in the list so you have to scroll all the way to the last one you voted. That’s just bad user experience. 3- “Activity”: I have all the notifications (likes, comments, challenged winners, etc). Once opened, there is no way to see that same notification again which is fine if is a like or comment, but not convenient if you won a challenge cause you won’t see it again. I wish there was section where I see all the winner challenges (probably a tab in the profile). 4- An error comes up every now and then “Something went wrong. Your submission could not be recorded”. Again, good idea with a lot of room for improvement. Keep it up!
As an experienced photographer I’d recommend saving your time by avoiding this platform until Canon fixes the many glitches and engineering misses with this app. It’s a good idea but was clearly executed with limited resources. It seems that its only purpose may well be to improve Canon’s AI capabilities using creative content and time of the public. I’ve seen zero benefit thus far after devoting a fair amount of time on the platform. It fails in building a photo community which it could do if it wanted.
I literally can’t even upload a picture....... also no community and buggy app.... Deleted after one day
This app would be a lot more fun if it weren’t so frustrating. There’s no way to see a list of all challenges, it just recommends some for what it thinks are good for you, but often they don’t match. There are many glitches, and often it won’t even let me submit a photo that meets the challenge criteria, for whatever reason. Tagging your photos often gets infuriating, as it only lists a select number of tags to choose from, and you’re required to have a certain number of tags per photo. Overall, if Canon actually took these reviews into consideration and fixed their app, it would be an excellent source of inspiration and community.
I liked this app at first but now none of my pictures will upload. It’s been a couple months and it will not work.
So it’s a very great concept but it’s slow. Sometimes it’s a little difficult to post a photo and it lags a little. I hope they update the app and make it a little faster and that would definitely get 5 stars.
This app is a great idea still needs a little work. Would like to see a tab so you can see the challenge winners . But overall pretty good. Thanks for giving us a platform to see others works
Great App for lovers of photography. Upload your best shots, and see how the compare world wide. I enjoyed being a participant Michael
Tried this app after canon advertised bug fixes. Very slow, not worth it. I couldn’t log in a second time after my first session-kept getting an error message. Save your time and energy until canon decides to put some of their time and energy into the app
