No connectivity with Apple Health App

Michael deC

Apple claims Qardio as a data source but I haven’t Had a response from the Qardio people yet. Asked about it about a year ago. Otherwise it’s a five star app for blood pressure and heart rate.

Excellent Health Device and App

Update after a year... The QardioArm still works great but the scale isn’t that great. It weighs you but it will not update your Apple Health. I’ve worked with their support, deleted app, redid all permissions, etc. and now even have a new phone and it still doesn’t update. It’s the app that’s deficient at least with the updating. Five stars if that worked. I've used Qardio for a month now and have found that it is an excellent supplement to my other health-related apps. I appreciate the QardioArm - it is small and packable. I feel like it and the app give me an easy way to check my blood pressure and record it for doctor visits.

Needs Work

The description says that the app “works” with iPad. All you get is a non rotating iPhone view of the app. Totally useless on my iPad. How hard is it to support the rotated views and the additional screen resolution you get on a larger screen. The actual hardware seems to be a reasonable implementation of a blood pressure device. I’m still holding back on giving it a high rating because I had to replace the batteries a little over a week after purchasing it. I am waiting to see if the second set lasts longer. Support!! I filed a support case when the initial batteries failed and the device would not connect to my iPhone. A day later I got a reply indicating what I could do to correct my problem on my QardioBase. I specifically stated I was having problems with my CardioArm. I don’t even have a QardioBase. How hard is it to read the actual text I submitted? This is a consumer medical device that purports to be as accurate as professional devices. I expect support questions be given the attention that a medical professional would.

Crashes constantly on iPhone X

The app used to be a lot more stable. Now it crashes every time I use it. It even crashes when you are doing nothing but looking at the screen. It also is painfully slow in scrolling up the data history and navigating through the timeline of the graphical display.

QardioBase2 scale

I bought this after reading that family members “may be able to see your [weight, BMI, etc.]”. I thought it would only be if they dug around for it or if there was an issue. That is not the case. It’s very easy to seen every measurement taken on the scale. It should be easy enough to choose to hide your data, even to family members. The scale is beautiful and I like the way it works but I’m considering returning the very expensive scale for this reason. It makes the process about other people and not my own goals and monitoring of my health.

Not compatible

Doesn’t work with other devices I have like my chest strap heart rate monitor. Poor closed system development design. What a shame Apple is promoting this app over others. I thought I could count on Apple to help ME.
