PAD is AWESOME

The only thing I would like for you to add and I am sure that other players would like this I want you to add the feature of competing with you friends

I’m a whale with regrets and I can’t blame the game.

Carcinosis

To be honest I have spent far more money on this game than any sane person who doesn’t make a living playing the game should spend. I justified it to myself over the 5 years of playing by amount vs time as entertainment budget. That worked for the first two thousand dollars, but now that I am more serious about my finances and am looking to the future I am left with some strong regrets. My friends who initially brought me into the game all quit because of ‘power creep’. Which to be fair to them is a real thing. The power did significantly drift over the 5 years this game has been going for. That being said. The consistent release of new and exciting content has kept me coming back and lying to myself about purchase limits. I agree with those that say this game is not designed for the casual players. I am near rank 500, and I still have consistent trouble with end game content. My extreme spending on the game has however boosted my position within the meta to allow me to participate in the content even if my skills are lagging behind slightly. Overall I still have fun with only a few of my ‘best friends’ still playing. The art style and game mechanics are a solid base, and while the power does creep, they are consistently offering new evolutions to the old cards allowing your cards/purchases to be useful through the entire game. I have spent 2k+$ on this game, and while I regret how MUCH I’ve spent, I do not regret what I have received and the good times that I’ve had.

Entertaining at the beginning, but frustrating at higher level

This game had an impelling mechanic with it when it first came out. I have been playing for about 2 years and the card-based game that requires you to solve a puzzle-type board in order to command them to attack will have you absorbed for many hours(With breaks due to a stamina gauge). However, I can tell Gung-ho is really running out of ideas and can’t bring the game back to its peak it once was at. Around the rank of 100+, you’ll find out that not even the best monsters you acquired will beat the appropriate dungeons at your level. It gets infuriating with the enemies that will ignore top damage, absorb certain element, cuts damage and so on. I have also notice the amount of monster and evolution release has been declining. This is a major problem since it is one of the main reason of what makes this game fun. Case in point, higher level gaming will be met with absurdity and general frustration that would lead you in either persevere or give up entirely. I acknowledge that there are also other people who believes this game has a high skill ceiling and requires dedication in order to have bring out the game’s fullest entertainment potential. Nevertheless, there is no real reason to force players to grind their mechanical skill max in order to have fun. Instead, Gung-Ho needs to add new mechanics, new monsters, and halt on the ridiculous, unbeatable enemies that will always leave you dumbfounded. I would give this game a 2.5/5 instead of a 2/5 since it is a bit exaggerated, but this game does have problems that negates the fun it is suppose to bring.

I have been playing this game since about 6 months after its initial American release. It has been amazing to watch it evolve to what it is now. You can casually get into this game and have a load of fun and also be a veteran player without any chance of clearing the hardest dungeons. Good work Gung-ho, you have withstood the test of time in an ever changing game market. I will continue to play this game until you decide to pull the plug. Great work partnering with SNK recently and hope you attempt to do the same with CapCom.

I love this game, everything is well detailed and extremely fun. This is a good game if you want to pass by time or if your bored. It’s a really fun game. If your thinking of getting it, I would!! You can evolve your monsters and they get cooler as you do, plus all of there skills go up, you can collect other cool monsters on your journey when you fight battles and even invite a friend to help. I recommend to everyone!
