Proton mail is great

Acevamps

Ever since I opened a ProtonMail account I no longer get hundreds of junk mail or advertising emails I only get email from those companies I choose to do business with and have accounts with, it’s really easy to use the only thing I still can’t figure out though I filled all the instructions but to no avail is how to shorten my email address instead of writing out the entire ProtonMail.com email, I was very leery of having my email with a foreign country but it seems safe so far I’ve read nothing but great things about proton and I’m very greatful for their developers and team, I hope they never forget their roots or sell out our information to corporations or governments & their spy agencies, and remember why people are making them the fastest growing email provider because we are desperate for privacy & value our freedoms

Great mobile, NEEDS DARK MODE

Any chance you’ll be adding this function, to allow the bulk deletion of emails?

Really Nice App

RutglessBoy521

I love using my ProtonMail address for everything! I like how it is private and I can encrypt my messages. The only thing I would like is a way to block email addresses on mobile. I’m not sure if you can do it on the web version because I rarely use it, but if it was on the mobile that would be awesome!

Impressed and thankful

The bigger the Net becomes expands the risks of many nefarious types. Thankful for options to help keep us safe while also educating us to do more.

Ok app, subscription feature failed for me

tiredOfRebooting

Updated, as the developer reached out to me explain, yet again, that the button labeled “subscribe” does not actually subscribe. They seem to have no intent to fix this, and no understanding that is is an issue (in spite of me having worked with support already). I was invited to contact support to help me subscribe (again?). Minus one star. —- I subscribed to the service 2 years ago. At the end of that period I received an email telling me my subscription was ending. So I went to the subscription menu in the app, and pressed button to subscribe for another year for $59.99. And then a week later I was locked out of my account for being ‘delinquent’. I then had to login to the website, where I saw a demand to pay an additional amount (which I later found out is the the difference between 1 a year and 2 year subscription). This was the only way to restore access to my email. Apparently if you subscribe for one plan, you must change plans before you are invoices for renewal. Renewing under a different plan is no longer possible (so said the support staff, anyway). I find it pretty unacceptable to be locked out of my email after having already subscribed again for a lesser period of time.

Privacy Beware

Johnny Infinity

This app uses the known reputation of “Swiss Privacy”, pretending to be of Swiss origin, but is ran by the CEO who is from Taiwan. Taiwan is “officially the republic of China”. Seems like the idea of a privacy trojan horse. Any company can claim “encryption” which is inaccessible, but who can verify this?

Options

pjgardner

I really like Protonmail but wish there were two things, unless I am missing how to do this. Have a split screen to show the emails on the left and read the emails on the right. Second is to have the folders on the left and the email on the right. Am I missing these options or are they not part of the app? Thanks again for having an email program that is secure. Paul

Not getting emails

Smellslike1991

Was excited to use this service for email but as I started switching accounts over, I’m not receiving the verification emails. I tried to send it to another gmail I have just to test and it went there with no issue. Updating this as their customer support is great.

Reliable but missing important features

shaddi.notw

I have enjoyed transitioning to ProtonMail and utilizing the app as default Mail app on my iPhone. My suggestions to make this app perfectly functional: 1) move the control bar/command list to the bottom of the screen; 2) allow user choice of notification sound; 3) allow user choice of swipe actions other than ‘trash’ and ‘spam’.
