I wish I could do a more “scientific” experiment but this App, when used right, will increase battery life. Mostly because a bunch of apps won’t be ping-ing your location and other data. And those apps tend to work fine, even in “Agressive” mode within Disocnnect’s settings. Check it out.

I do not know with this app when I blocked a site and when it is allowed. In activity it shows most recent tracked addresses with a rectangular box that says allowed. When I press the arrow next to the site a window opens in which the Term Blocked is turned on. When I save the site though, Blocked is turned off. This is very confusing. There were some sites that showed as allied that I wanted to block. specifically I wanted to block a site that had the term remoteconfig in it. Now I don’t know if instead I gave them custom permission to be on. You should at least have clear instructions for this app. I did not download it to make myself less safe.i could not find the information on the web. I will reverse my rating if this issue can be resolved.

Finally stopped stalking ads!!

I purchased based on article in NYT 12/21/19. I’m consistently stalked by ads that magically know what I’m talking about, looking at, my location. Emails, texts, FB, IG. Installed this as well as turned off all location and ad tracking on iPhone settings. On this app, Turned up Google and FB block to “Aggressive”, turned on DNS and VPN. Changed my web browser to Bing instead of Google - I love google but sick and tired of the trade off in loss of privacy. Other than having to change web browser, I’ve had only one instance of an app being inoperable. No prob, I can still navigate to full site and get what I need. First 24 hours - my email came to almost a standstill - spam and zillions of repeat emails stopped. In about first 18 hours, over 1.8k ad trackers were blocked, 250+ HTTP. I’m absolutely shocked at how many ad trackers are pinging my phone. Not sure how all of this works, but the full combo of resetting my iPhone privacy settings and installing this app is clearly doing something right.

In my experience,If your looking for a TOR based post modem vpn protection that will mask you home ip. This may not be your best choice. If your a true road warrior that uses public WiFi’s that are notorious for blocking TOR connection attempts as well as allowing device sharing protocols this will be perfect for you . Been using this app for a few years . With its local device firewall rule sets I am able to use it on both cell and Wifi without interruptions as well as layering it with a TOR vpn or TOR browser for additional security depending of the host network policies .

Ouldnt connect to common sites

Over and over again, I got “Cannot connect to server” or “ server stopped responding” in Safari, but I could connect with no control and ExpressVPN. These were harmless websites, like Abebooks.com. So I gave up on this app, although it is easy and fast to use. There was also no easy way to report problems. Pity.

Great App, Needs Cloudflare App Support

This app is great at blocking trackers. However, it can't be used with Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 with WARP/WARP+ tunneling. Cloudflare support said that Apple doesn't permit them to specify their app as a "Personal VPN", only a "VPN Configuration", which is what this app also uses. So it's an either/or choice. Please add the ability to use "Personal VPN", like ProtonVPN uses, for example, so both this and Cloudflare's app can be used together!
