Needs less commercials

I really love this app. Love all the channels its provides. My only issue is if we are paying a monthly fee for this service why are there so many commercials. I understand they may be necessary but there are too many and too long. Most people pay for these type of tv services so there are no to very few interruptions during their favorite programs. Other wise love the site

Great price

I normally do not write reviews but after paying over $100.00 for cable and switching to this service for only $20.00 and I still get to watch everything I normally watched on cable. I’m extremely happy.

Tv reinvented. Amazing

This is what tv should be! the app is awesome allowing you to watch what’s on from the beginning or jump to live. You can save shows easily, and browse trending shows to discover new things. It is affordable and simple. Best UI I’ve tried from competing apps. Recommended.

Amazing TV

I cut the cord about a year ago and was using Primestreams. That was very unreliable, especially when a major sport was airing. It would just start buffering and then would just stop till the event was close to being over. I found Philo from talking with some guys at work that have had it for a long time! Long enough that it was only $16 a month. So about 2 months ago, I cut ties with Primestreams and came over to Philo. Best decision hands down! Sure I don’t have all the premium channels.. HBO, Stars etc... but I can watch all that movie stuff on Cinema HD for free anyway. But what I do have with Philo is a solid connection, no buffering, and the most amazing channel line up! Every channel we watch too! I love love love the fact that they have all 3 of the Hallmark channel line ups, along with a lot of the Discovery channels line ups as well. They really hit the nail on the head when they chose what they did to air. I’m not a big news guy, so I’m also glad they didn’t stuff a bunch of that crap in there and stuck with real family type broadcasting, and all for $20 a month! Oh I I forgot to mention... The DVR set up they have is AMAZING! I’m sure there are others out there cheaper, but my parents always said... you get what you pay for! Love my Philo! Especially being home bound for this quarantine covid 19 crap, it’s especially welcomed in my home and on my devices! Thank you Philo! Customer for life Joshua Emo

Excellent for $20

Philo is an excellent value. There is a good variety of entertainment, with quite a few movies to watch. I like the channel guide with the thumbnails instead of the traditional grid, and full series of TV shows are available on demand. I’m not a sports fan and find that some of the other premium services are padded with sports channels and cost a lot more. AXS is a really good channel for music documentaries and concerts. The DVR seems to work really well. My only complaint is the advertising on live TV, but if you record it’s possible to skip the ads. My request for future channels would be Smithsonian or a classic movie channel like TCM.

Very disappointed

So I signed up for this app yesterday. My husband and I were trying to see what was on. I was so happy that it has shows that we both liked. What has turned us off of this streaming service is that we were watching a show. It goes to a advertisement that was over 8 minutes. Yes over 8 mins long. So then the show finally comes back on for like 10 mins to go back to 6 mins of advertisements. I can see having advertisements but having them last for so long doesn’t make sense to me. We were so happy to see the channels that were available and the price was very nice too but I don’t see us continuing the service.

Ok app

Perfect for Commercial Lovers

Do you love commercials? Then you should download this app. You’ll see more commercials per episode than you ever could imagine. Holy smokes! That said, use the family phone numbers and get a week free. Then after it expires use another number for another week. You won’t get charged and you don’t have to cancel. It just expires. That’s all. No gotcha fees or “cancel by” deadlines. After you’ve exhausted all the family numbers and the Google Voice numbers, then walk away. Unless you like commercials. Lots of commercials. Oh, and be careful when you pause. You might click the wrong thing and have to go through another six weeks of commercials. Don’t pay for this app. Eat a live bat instead.

Commercials

The app has everything that I watch but it has way to many ads/commercials. To make it worse the commercials are very long.
