Phantasmat - enjoyable game!
Izzyoc

I'll be honest - I wasn't expecting to like this game. When Eipix takes over a game from another developer (like ERS in this case), it usually loses some of the atmosphere of the series. But this one is still delightfully creepy (and slightly disturbing). The story - joy of joys, we are not a detective but simply someone who has been invited to a family reunion by a long-lost cousin! Once you arrive, everything seems a little off kilter, and gets weirder as time goes on. No rats so far, but one explosion of bats early on. I am enjoying unraveling the mystery behind my cousin and wacky cast of characters I meet. The game mechanics: like all Eipix games, there's no custom mode of play. Transportable map that shows where actions are needed. There's very little lag moving from scene to scene, even with my first generation iPad mini. Good variety in HOGs. The goodies: Collectable rocking horses in each scene (an icon reminds you whether or not you've found it). Some scenes have morphing objects, and nicely enough they've also included an icon to let you know when there's one to find. Upcoming Games from Big Fish Games: Dark Parables: Goldilocks and the Fallen Star (3.4 stars, Eipix, Nov. '15) Cadenza: Havana Nights (3.9 stars, Mad Head, Mar '16) Ominous Objects: Trail of Time (3.5 stars, Daily Magic, Dec '15) Midnight Calling: Jeronimo (4.1 stars, Elephant Games, Jun. '16) Secrets of the Dark: Flower of Shadow (2.9 stars, Orneon, July '14) Secret Order: Buried Kingdom (4.4 stars, Sunward Games, May '16) A fix for that glitchy Puppetshow game should be coming out soon!

Phantazmat behind the mask - ghosts ghouls and more!
Dracyy

Eipix game but no loading between scenes yay! As with the rest in this series (each plays as stand alone) this game appears to be of a decent length! Small occasional vermin in HO, has match 3 alternative for some HO. well drawn and the plot is very dark and twisted. Not recommended for younger players (themes of murder, masochism and adult violence) however the violence thankfully isn't re-enacted in full gory detail. You are invited to a family reunion but find yourself suddenly hunted by an insane murderous posse of ghosts every one of which wants you dead....like all their other victims! Can you exorcise them in time to escape? Verdict: buy!

Boring. Predictable.

Just the same old oil can here, jump between rooms to find obvious things. I bought it and stopped halfway through. Eipix games are very pretty but DULL.

I Think The "Wards" Belong In The Mental Ward!

According to Madhead's Facebook site, Episode 4 of "Adam Wolfe" will be released through the App Store within "the following days." Stay tuned and check often if you plan on playing! Wow! I didn't know that I was in the food catering business! I love the twist of incorporating my name into the game. The plot is ordinarily dreadful and portentous, and it does not foster any new ideas or concepts; however, the story maintains my attention as a faithful admirer of horror. The ambiance is typically harrowing and ghastly as you meet your suspicious and formidable extended family at a decrepit, run-down manor; upon your dismay, the exit door pulls a disappearing act and locks you in, which forces you to save yourself from the pits of doom. The scenery/sound effects are highlighted through an exorbitant amount of macabre imagery and pandemonium, such as the gargoyle statues with piercing eyes; a piano hauntingly playing by itself; the menacing laughter and convoluted, lullaby-like rhymes of tortured souls; the creepy stares of contorted masks; the hanging skeletal remains of animals; and your nerve-racking visions of murder and mayhem. As is quintessential with this developer, the graphics are insufficient in quality and presentation; they visually appear chapped and unpolished, which are indications of inferior craftsmanship. The color scheme is overwhelmed with a recycled and mundane bluish background containing little variation of additional interfused shades. As is customary with this developer, you are denied the opportunity to customize your settings; this setback is an archaic practice since player usability is abated. This lack of customized settings adversely affects the teleport map; in second mode, there are no indications of available actions. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. On the contrary, Eipix outperforms other developers in other contexts. The HOS are plenteous in quantity; pioneering in nature; intricate in form and discovery. They include advanced techniques, such as multi-layered sequences, where one form transitions into another. Some of the puzzles are crafty and original in both presentation and simplicity; their actions and themes blend into the premise rather suitably. Transition between scenes is effortless; no stalling here. Textual info is acquired by collecting parcels of scattered reading materials, thereby denying the chance to refresh your memory of story progression. Both sets of collectibles are fairly conspicuous in placement; respective collection indicators are implemented. An exasperating nuisance is that upon selecting the incorrect inventory item, a clamorous, dinging noise consistently resonates that drives me to the point of madness; I have to play with the volume almost completely turned off. In addition, I feel like I'm being pulled back and forth between pacification and yearning referring to the high level of creativity and the scarcity of elementary structural settings. I would like to close out this review with an acknowledgment that we were denied a new game on Monday; they overextended the last two games by about a week, which did little to supplement BF's shortfalls. I hope we begin to steer in the right direction with some high-quality, worthy games.

Incredible
TinkerbellPan

Dracyy and Izzyoc covered everything, this truly is an amazing game. I'm a senior on limited income and I've blown a lot of $3.99's over the months since play before you pay disappeared for the new releases. This one I would have gladly paid full price for. I loved the fact that in the HO scenes there is the opportunity to switch to Match 3, handy for tired eyes. Also when the deals pop up I find that I've played most of them already, so a brand new game is refreshing.

Well thought-out mini-games; very enjoyable.

Creepy Cool Fun
Mizzjess83

I've played hundreds of these games but have rarely been compelled to write a review. This game is so different from the normal horror HOGs. It's more creepy with silhouettes showing past killings and a little boy who constantly sings in rhyme. Not your normal blood smeared HOG which tries to be scary but usually falls way short. This has an awesome story line, ok length ( like 4-5 hours), great transporting map which also accurately tells you where something needs to be done as well as fun puzzles. You collect morphing objects and rocking horses if that's your thing. Definitely may be my favorite Phantasmat and in my over all top 10!

Disturbing ,but interesting
BWIL1

I am reviewing before I finished the game. I have to say that this is one of the most disturbing games Big Fish has offered. You are locked in a house with evil sick ghosts who may be your relatives. You will come across Infanticide ( the baby cried too much), masochism, and demented ghosts who find creative ways to use dead bodies. However, this macabre game is interesting , great HOGs, mini-games, and a good map. You also have a match game option during some of the HOGs. I am not sure how this will end. If you don't mind the disturbing content and like interesting challenges, my advice is to buy it.
