2 iPhones to one account
KatieV622

I've really had no issues with my feeder. The only two things I really wish this app would change is the option to add another authorized user to the account/app. My husband and I tend to have opposite schedules and our cats feeder is set to my iPhone, so if he gets home after her scheduled 5pm feed he has no idea if it went through unless he calls and asks me if I got a successful feed notification. Also, the hopper level on the app has been inaccurate multiple times. So the feeder goes off and nothing dispenses and the last I knew it was 70% full.

Don't buy!!!
Mrwhitman

This used to work really well but the app no longer responds and the feeder behaves irrationally. What a waste of money. Feeder also says it has 0% battery even though it’s fully charged.

App

Other than having to continue to log in and phone support not returning messages it does ok.

Worth every penny

So far so good, works like charm, deliver the exact amount of food 4 times daily, every time it feeds my dog I got my notification, the hoper is pretty decent (holds up to 7 pounds of Kibble) and is ver my well constructed, highly recommended!

Won’t even work

Just bought two smartfeeders and the app won’t even connect to start the pairing process. Reached out to support but no response. Enjoying these two big paper weights very much.

Worse Over Time
El Pesc

This app seems to have gotten worse over time. The biggest complaint is the lack of warning when food is getting low. Previous versions of the app used to tell you when you were close to out, but this one only lets you know when you’ve run out of food and the dispenser couldn’t provide anything. I reached out to customer support about this change and they confirmed that it was removed but “will be back soon”. That was almost 2 years ago. For an automated dispenser, this should be a basic function. It also looks like this latest iteration cannot remember your password.

Could be great but....

Here’s an app connected to a dog feeder that has the potential to be spectacular—but it’s not. The feeder jams quite frequently, which is generally caused by an automatic feeding occurring when the previous one was not eaten. The slope of the storage container needs to be increased into a larger bowl. My dog is not always available for feeding because I’ve taken him out or fed him elsewhere, which jams the mechanism and sends me an internet warning. This is almost a daily occurrence! The app requires a sign-in every day using a password. It doesn’t use facial or thumbprint recognition from an iPhone and doesn’t remember who you are on the device you’re using. This makes it a nuisance to open up the app to make changes. I very much like the idea of the feeder and associated app, but both need work before it can move above two stars. In fact this will be a one star rating if phone support hadn’t been outstanding!

Works inconsistently- so use w/a NestCam
RR Snickers

We have 2 Feeders. In general they work pretty well. App alerts are timely. Not sure why one will randomly not dispense. But the remote manual feed works great with the app. If we see it missed via the Nest Cam we just send a feeding when we need to. Looking forward to future bug fixes and enhancements. This has potential and we’re sticking with it!

Not perfect yet

I like this product but there are many issues. I have a very greedy cat so it helped me woke up at 5 am. But it’s not working sometimes. This is serious issue if I’m not at home and not sure if my cat gets food or not. Once I did manual feed in front of me and it said “failed” to feed my cat, but it was feeding my cat... now I can’t trust this product anymore.. I like the plate is not plastic and easy to clean and my cat can’t open the feeder ( my cat is big, he opened a few feeder before). Also, once the feeder fed my cat without any order. I’m still hoping Petnet fixes these problems. (I asked help already. My app is updated, power connection is ok, enough food inside) if it works this is great product but now I can’t recommend to pet lovers.

Inaccurate feed amounts
kbjcnj

I’ve just discovered that the feeder is dispensing twice the amount, 1/8 cup instead of 1/16 cup. I contacted customer service about this and they have not responded. My cat is now overweight.
