Bugs

Mad in the Methow

I absolutely love Pepperplate and I would rate it 5 stars or more if it weren't for the bugs. I am still having trouble with the app not providing me with the ability to share to share and/or e-mail my recipes. I have reported this in the past and was told they didn't know what the problem was. And it still hasn't been fixed. Not what I call good customer service. App also frequently quits. If they can't get the bugs under control, I guess I will have to look for another app which is something I REALLY don't want to do. It has so many other great features. Please, do something about the bugs!

Works mostly

Love everything about the app. Works great. Love using it to share recipes with friends. However the post to Facebook thing on the app has never worked for me.

Used to LOVE this app...

Used to LOVE this app, however in the past year it has not worked as smoothly as it used to. I can no longer import recipes through All Recipes app (& others). When I send a recipe to a friends via email link, when I go back to send another recipe, the same recipe populates even though I am sending a different one. I have emailed CS a few times regarding these issues, and receive a reply, “we are working on that functionality improvement”. (That has not happened). I would like to continue using this app but it appears they are no longer updating this app to continue iOS compatibility.

Wish there was an Apple Watch app

I love this app. My husband and I have used it for years. I love the ability to import recipes, input my own, and the shopping list. My only complaint is that because it hasn’t been updated recently, I would love to see an update that includes support for the Apple Watch, so I can just look on my watch for my shopping list, instead of having to keep my phone out too.

Awesome, but only one flaw

I have been using this app for years, and love it. Recipes are easy to add, sort, categorize, and search. There is a helpful menu planning function as well as shopping list by recipe or category. HOWEVER, I think the Menu feature needs to be updated- I can only create menus from the desktop site, not the mobile app, and when on the mobile app, the recipes in a menu aren’t clickable to see the ingredient list. You need to back out of the menu tab and go to recipes and search for what you saw under a particular menu. I would love this to be updated, and the app would become MUCH more useful for menu planning!

Don’t download

Great app that has seen 1 update in 4 years. Usually means the developer is giving up. Don’t spend time adding recipes to a dying app.

Crashes on iOS9

Gillott232

Worked on adding new some new recipes for about an hour and every time I try to open one now, the app crashes. :(

Please add watch feature!

I've been using this app for years and I haven't found a better recipe manager/meal planner/shopping list. I love it but it would really benefit from an Apple Watch feature. View your shopping list, track cooking times and review steps. Please add!!

Fancy, but not easy to use.

The menus are nice, but it's miserable adding your own recipe and the shopping list is horrible as well. There are no instant menus to easily select from, you have to type everything in from scratch (no pun intended). And adding recipes from the website, well if you figure it out let me know. I recommend checking out chefly (no, I didn't create it) and it's free.

Could be SO great...

This app is just about everything I've been looking for... But it's just a little behind the times. MyFitnessPal has the right idea with their recipe importing features: you can add a URL that will find the ingredients for you. Yes, PepperPlate has that ability but it's just not robust enough to really be useful. It should have a database of recipes that I can search through to curate my own cookbook, so to speak, instead of relying on me to first input ALL of my recipes manually, then build out grocery lists by hand. Because otherwise it's no better than a notebook where I can write down all my recipes for the week and write a grocery list. This app just doesn't enhance my experience enough to be worthy of taking up space on my phone. It's nice, but for now I give it a one.
