I'm confused that so many people are complaining that PBS isn't free. A PBS Passport subscription costs LESS than 20 cents per day...And it is almost 100% commercial free... And you get hundreds & hundreds of some of the best original programs ever offered. Think about this way: Creating quality shows costs money. Now ask yourself, "where does PBS get this money? The answer is this: Some comes from foundations or donations or auctions and some comes from paid subscriptions like Passport. And some comes from advertisers. At the beginning (or end) of each PBS show, you will see 15 -to- 30 seconds of commercials. Thats All ! Then you get to watch (on your device or by streaming to your TV) the entire show commercial free because people like me are willing to pay less than 20 cents per day so PBS can remain almost 100% commercial free. As someone else in these reviews mentioned...think about how much you pay for "ALL" those other subscriptions you have ...and how most of them constantly bombarded you with commercials. Choosing a PBS Passport subscription is a no brainer.

I signed in on my Apple TV. PBS says “congratulations you’re TIVO is connected”. Next, I find the one program I want to watch is unavailable without something called a passport. Forget it. I’ll look for a torrent.

i love pbs and will continue to support, but it’s REALLY ANNOYING that the app can’t properly support shows casting to smart tvs (more specifically all of ken burns’ stuff, which is why i’m here). every other streaming platform can hack it - why not pbs? PLEASE FIX !

Loved this app until it suddenly stopped letting me watch videos. There is no play option and it keeps cycling between the titles, with no option to actually watch the programs.

In a world where high quality moderate leaning news and programming is difficult to find, this app is priceless. I only use the free version, primarily watching PBS news hour almost daily, and occasionally the longer form news programs. Streams great to apple and Chromecast.

Constantly skips when using the chromecast, doesn’t seem to be any way to fix it.

I cannot use major portions of this app because it does not work with voiceover on my iPhone. I donate to OPB even though I am legally blind and have trouble seeing some of the videos. But I want to listen at least.

First they trick you into having to buy Passport to get publicly funded shows. Now they tease you with live tv..unless you live slightly too far out of the viewing area. For gods sake, either lock everything down or open up your publicly funded (ie tax dollars paid for it) content. This is about as bad as EA.
