This is so far my favorite Nethack remake, just like the original but with better graphics. For those of you that have never played THE rogue-like dungeon crawler give this a go. You will find it very addictive... Just one more floor!

I've been a fan of Rogue-like games ever since I first played Rogue on the University computer back in the early 80's. Once I had a PC, I played Rogue and the Hack and after that NetHack. Found a Windows version but eventually moved on. My wife mentioned how much we loved NetHack back then and wouldn't it be good if we could play it on our iPads. Went searching and came across Pathos: NetHack codex. We were blown away. It's got all the heart of NetHack with very similar rules and feel, but so quick and easy to play on the iPad. The developer obviously is a huge NetHack fan and is working very hard at implementing as much NetHack into his program as possible. He's done a great job so far and he's continuously improving it. He's also very fast with bug fixes and suggestions; other developers could take a lesson from him on customer interaction. Love it love it love it. If you enjoy NetHack, give Pathos a try. You won't be disappointed!

Simply a great iOS rogue like with all the classic staples.. Unidentified items and gems potions and scrolls. Lots of equipment and enemy variety... Turn based combat... Fountains and altars .. Pets... Couldn't ask for more. Plus to make it all better a very active Developer on touch arcade

The developer is very quick to update this app. The game itself is far easier to play than inethack is and it looks and sounds amazing.

Of all the nethack versions on iOS this one truly captures the style of the original. I can easily lose several hours into this game once again!

This is Nethack for the 21st century. I have been a longtime Nethack player, and I am actually astounded at how the creator of Pathos has removed the obtuse weirdness of the Nethack interface, and has truly made it entirely playable on a touch screen. This is streamlined Nethack, and if you ever tried to play it and couldn't get past the initial awkwardness of it all, then download this app. I am actually so impressed with Pathos, it should be the next evolution of Nethack. Download it and prepare to be impressed.

Pets a bit weird

I absolutely love this game play it for hours and hours planning each strategic move. The only problem I have is with pets I like them but I'm wondering if there is a way to implement an improved ability to follow me so I don't lose my dog or golem or shimmering dragon.Keep up the great work I wish you success.
