Horrid

ColonelMcDoogle

At first it is interesting and charming especially if you are a table top gamer. Love the dice and card system... I do not like rigged dice rolls that force you to pay for proficiency upping items in game (real money -> ingame currency -> timed proficiency bonuses). DO. NOT. BUY. Rigged dice rolls ruining a game I’d gladly buy all dlc for $20.

Glitched out

I want to start off by saying this is a great game; both mobile and the real card game version. I own the other 3 with all expansions and character packs just not this one so I dropped the $15 on the whole game except the goblin stuff. $15 is a great price for all the adventures compared to the price of the cards. Last week I spent the $15 and it worked well all week. I was able to sign in and even transfer to my iPad to play. Then out of no where everything just stopped working. It says I logged in but I don’t have any of my adventures or characters I paid for. It doesn’t work on my iPhone or iPad. All my progress lost. If it gets fixed then the game deserves 10 stars out of 5. I love the game but losing all progress makes the game crap.

Fun game but

Story Game Love 9898

I have never seen so many 1’s come up on dice as I do in this app. If you need 3 or better on 2 dice, in this app odds are you will get two 1’s. Game itself is true to board game. Wish they would add more content or do another version of the Pathfinder card games.

Pay to play

#%•*?!

This game at first has a nice sense to it. The tutorial is long but can be completed in sections. But this is all downgraded by the fact that anything beyond the tutorial const money. This absolutely ruined the game for me. The game says you need 3 to 4 characters to play but you only get 2 for free. I tried to play with two and I did not make it far. They have lots of characters and I don’t think it would hurt to make two more free so the game is playable. Until then this game is not worth it.

Try hard and fail!!!

MrFunktaztyk

Overly complicated! Interface likes to freeze or jam up, tutorials cause the game to lock up! It’s a shame a good card game would be made into such a worthless game! And then you gotta pay through the nose, once you’re done with the first level, to continue playing!!!

Wheres my stuff...

MaplestoryAran

I had everyone unlocked except for harsk, lem, and seoni, and the burnt offerings adventure, and when I logged on today, i’m back to just having the starter characters and just perils of the lost coast. I cant do any of the daily quests... and i cant get my equipment off the characters, which still exist in my collection, but they just cant be put in any party.

Great depth, mechanics, and engaging offline game

SWDOnline

Pathfinder Adventures is a great departure in an age where there are so few games of substance that can be played solo & offline. As others mention, it’s pricey to purchase characters, scenarios, and expansions, but I find the depth of play, customization, combos, and necessity for strategy well worth it. Scenarios adapt to the number of characters in your party, and since cards always shuffled, you never get the same game twice. This results in a feeling of randomness where luck is a *really* big factor. That can be both a frustration, and a motivator to come back with a different strategy. Overall, I enjoy and recommend this app for anyone who’s looking for a solo strategic deckbuilder/RPG.

Slapped hard.

This game seems like it would be a lot of fun. Looks amazing and is well put together. However, literally EVERYTHING cost money. This is a free trial, not a free game.

Rolling dice on the screen is fun!!

Volman1229

EDIT: I finished the free adventure on the lowest difficulty (and all 3 difficulties for the firer scenario) and wanted to add these thoughts. My one con is that the leveling up system is pretty stunted. The main way you improve your character is through deck building, but adding skills to the skill tree takes too long (finished the first three scenarios and still no growth, not sure when I’ll get to add a skill or if I will). I guess I’m used to other RPG’s where skill tree progression is a bit quicker. Other than that, this game is FANTASTIC!! Are there frustrating dice rolls? Absolutely! Does that happen when I tabletop game? Absolutely! The advantage here is that I don’t have to figure the odds myself, the computer does it for me, which actually leads to LESS frustration (except for those few times that your probability is above 80% and you still fail). I’m going to be buying the full version of this game more than likely. I am really enjoying the freeware version of this game. Yes, you will eventually have to pay for content. The cheapest base set of the physical game is $41 on Amazon...so the portability here makes it a pretty good value I think. I have encountered a couple of bugs, like tutorial pop ups getting stuck on screen, but when I finish the current action, they go away and everything moves on. I haven’t noticed buggy dice rolls like some claim, bad rolls just happen sometimes, like in a physical game. The dice rolling is quite possibly my favorite part and what has won me over big time to this game. I just love rolling the dice onscreen. Why have more games not done this? How man “build the buildings and tap them for resources” games have we seen versus any kind of tactical battle game where you roll the dice for combat?? Get the free version and try it out, you owe yourself at least that much if you’re a table top gamer.

Don’t be fooled - it’s a free trial, not a free game...

Tons of potential for a great game - but be prepared to pay big bucks to get there.
