Was good, one word per day limit ruined

Docbburk

This was a good app, but they are now limiting free use to one word per day, trying to get you to pay a monthly or yearly subscription. Oddly, I thought I paid for this up front anyways. Either way, their greed killed the usefulness of this app. I’ll go back to the internet or other reasonably priced app.

No price listed to start with, they get you in, let you use it for a few days then want you to upgrade, and limit you to 1 word a day if you don’t. Not impressed. Update: I was contacted by the developer, and was impressed by the courtesy they displayed despite my curt review. While this specific app is not going to work for me, they did explain purchasing options, etc, and I am happy with their customer service.

Incomplete

I thought OED had all the words in the English language until I looked up “acral” which refers to the distal part of an extremity. If this is an abridged version please offer the complete version. Scrabble lover

Very useful, but too expensive

The definitions are considerably more complete than the Merriam-Webster app. I think that the subscription price at $20/year is pretty steep. It should be less than half that. I’ve seen some complaints about the word-of-the-day choices but I think they’re perfect. Every one of them is a word that I’d like to use in everyday business or casual conversation. That makes them far more valuable to me than some obscure word that I might only have the opportunity to use a few times because few others would recognize them. They are all words that we learned in school and know their basic meanings but forgot were available to us. Good job there, ODE!

Not a good dictionary

Given that this cost money, I am surprised at the paucity of information for each word. It is at an elementary school level. I will not renew. It is a waste of money.
