Super. Not quite like the OED but sufficient for a quick fix.

A gem for a wordsmith

catherinefromrye

Each day from the youngest years of my life, I have had, and will always have, a profound experience with words. Nothing as important than the precise word, by which, we express ourselves with complete accuracy and knowledgeable outcomes, by the words that we choose. This is one of the best online apps, and I don’t have to hold a large, heavy text in my hands. A more than five star rating!

Update bug

Alpha_-_bet

The app was working perfectly. I am using it on a daily basis. I have the full version. But lately: - it started to get slow -sometimes i cant type in the keyboard to search for a word. -always asking me to note it on app store and its annoying

Very handy and useful.

Needs Much Improvement

AndrewMarc

When off-line, the app gives multiple warnings on the lack of an internet connection when one would be sufficient. It is also clunky to search for a new word after a previous search. And there is no dark mode.

Too many ads

I like the app, but it always asks if I want to upgrade. It’s annoying that I can’t use it at the ‘basic’ level without having to continuously be asked to upgrade. If you want to have people pay, have them pay up front. If they want to upgrade, they’ll do it right away. If not, they’ll find a different dictionary.

What a joy to have such a wonderful reference wherever you are when you need it.

Great dictionary of English, better than my Webster’s.

Why everything needs Internet/payment?

Can there be a free offline official Oxford Dictionary app ever? Being a non-native English speaker, I get sick to my stomach, when I think about the greed of these so called educationists like Oxford, ...ehhhh. In my view, and most of you’ll agree with me, greed is the only possible reason I can think of, which is solely responsible for millions of people, like me, who’re left behind in the race for quality English and for that reason quality education. I wonder how big is the size of your coffers and bellies? Get us a free official Oxford Dictionary app NOW - period.
